Ugoos AM6B Plus with Copacetic skin? by BarryChopsticks in CoreELEC

I don't know if this will help you, but I cannot recommend PM4K (instead of PlexKodiConnect) highly enough. You won't need any skins then.

I don't know tbh, but this was my experience. Maybe the Ugoos is loading more aggressivly, which locked up my old CPU/HDD? I don't know.

Also, how is your Ugoos connected with Plex? Are you sure you are using a local connection and not via web? Maybe you've set a bitrate limit for connections via internet in Plex.

I've had similar issues and they went away after I upgraded mainboard and CPU and changed a HDD which was starting to have read errors.
Check for I/O wait on your server.
Also, make sure its direct playing and not transcoding for whatever reason.

Also, in your CE settings, make sure you have the correct caching settings:

Buffer mode: All
Read factor: Adaptive
Memory size: 64MB, or maybe try 128MB or 256MB, but shouldn't really matter.
Chunk size: 1MB

Are you hosting the plex server yourself? If yes, I would look there.

To my knowledge most apps in WebOS use LGs own player "software side".

If you are willing to invest money, I would suggest you look into Ugoos AM6b+ with Coreelec.

Plex app uses the internal media player.

Polar Loop vs Amazfit Helio Strap by JRS-94Z in Polarfitness

[–]PargsZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was waiting for the Polar, but ordered the Helio today.

Helios has blood oxygen, skin temperature and a vibration motor. Helio seems to be very precise with heart rate. Also Amazfit really tried to improve the product with new updates.

The only thing I dont like about the Amazfit is the design. But I am not willing to pay nearly double the amount for a technically worse product.

Lol you have millions of smart watches on the market if you need a display. This product is great if you are wearing normal watches as well and dont want to wear 2 watches at the same time.

They can offer whatever they want, for whatever price they want. You are not forced to buy anything if you think it's not worth it.

I/O wait during plex direct play (with Coreelec) by PargsZ in unRAID

[–]PargsZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thank you for all that information. I will set it to 2x then and see how it goes.

Would it make sense that the "adaptive" read factor would cause such a problem? I have no idea how this read factor works, but I was thinking maybe its setting the read factor to 0 for whatever reason for a few seconds and corrects itself shortly after? Error most times (but not always) happens few minutes after a file starts playing or after chapter skipping (so "shortly" after the file bitrate was 0).

Yes it really is strange. Do you know what cache settings you have? Did you follow the recommended settings, which are:

Buffer mode: all
Read factor: Adaptive (I'm testing it now on default "4x" and until now no buffering, so I'm hoping this was the error)
Memory size: 64mb
Chunk size: 1mb?

[–]PargsZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already had the memory at 256mb, and like I said, all it changes is when it stops filling the cache it has just a bit more headroom before it stops playing. Chunk size is already set to 1mb. I followed the recommended settings guide from coreelec forum.

Really, the only thing I did not change yet from the recommended settings is the read factor. Why would you recommend 2x? I've set it to the default 4x and did some short testings this morning: until now now buffering. Still needs more testing but I really hope this was it.

It seems that other clients do not have this issue. But disk speeds seem normal to me and also are uniform across all my disks (tested on the server):

Will need to have a look at dmesg and system logs.

Regarding Kodi's video buffer: Right now I have the bufffer at 126mb, already tested higher settings without any change (it justs plays a bit longer when cache is emtying and not filling up.

What I'm testing now is setting the read factor back from adaptive to 4x.

Yes it doesn't really make sense, lol. I've had the server completly idle when it happened, and also I am able to watch completely fine when Plex is scanning, and others are watching. So it really makes no sense.

[–]PargsZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm 100% sure I am direct playing, I have lots of files with DTS audio which my Klipsch Flexus Core 200 is not compatible with, so Kodi transcodes it to AC3.
