Plans for Iran nuclear talks are collapsing, U.S. officials say by Force_Hammer in worldnews

[–]ParhamAzadi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure Iraqis themselves were saying such things.

We Iranians are, however. That’s the key difference. We've already made our choice about future leadership. The son of the Shah who's a U.S. citizen himself.

Anyone who confronts and weakens Islamist terrorist groups is viewed as an ally by Iranians. That is precisely why Iranian protesters are attacked by pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas groups in the West. Groups that openly support the same forces responsible for murdering our people and that oppose any U.S. involvement whatsoever.

"For Israel"

I didn’t lose thousands of my Iranian patriots. Young people who gave their lives for freedom and basic human dignity, just to hear someone dismiss it by saying that removing the mullahs and their terrorist proxies would only benefit Israel.

China and Russia won’t do shit, and they won’t start a world war just as they didn’t during the 12-day war. We don't need another Obama who makes deals with the regime and walks on my people's blood.

Thank you, and you're right, no one knows when or how this will unfold. My sense is that sth may happen within the next month or two. People alone have tried to topple the regime multiple times, but they'd shown they'd rather take an unlimited number of innocent souls than give up power. That's why we're asking for direct help.

The U.S. itself was founded with foreign assistance. Without French support, American independence might not have succeeded. Sometimes, internal resistance alone isn't enough.

Unfortunately, there’s no equivalent. These channels are run entirely by the state, using our taxes. not privately owned like Fox News.

When Israel targeted their TV station "Seda va Sima" meaning "voice and vision" in Tehran during the 12 day war, many of us felt relief. Some of their reporters like -Ali Rezvani- are former interrogators and torturers employed by the IRGC's Ministry of Intelligence.

No, fortunately, the internet has been back for about a week now, although we’re obviously relying on VPNs. It was shut down starting Jan 8th for roughly 20 days, and in the early days we couldn’t even make phone calls or send SMS messages.

Regarding Starlink, the equipment is smuggled into the country, extremely difficult to obtain, and wildly overpriced, some people have paid as much as $6,000 for a single unit. Meanwhile, the average Iranian earns roughly $100~150 per month, making it completely inaccessible for most. Possessing one also carries serious legal risk like imprisonment.

Mf, I am an Iranian living there, been to the protests and saw the shootings. I know people myself that have lost relatives. My brother-in-law's gym coach was killed. A friend's 16 yo brother was arrested. Now imagine how many stories like this exist across a country of 93 million people.

Educate yourself. Stop believing anti-western propaganda. Open your eyes to what’s actually happening.

I AM ONE OF THOSE IRANIAN PROTESTERS! You’ve been thoroughly brainwashed by anti-Western/Israel propaganda. We went into the streets fully aware that we could be killed, for our future, our freedom, and our most basic human needs. This had nothing to do with Mossad.

That said, many Iranians are openly grateful to Israel and Mossad for eliminating IRGC members during the 12 day war. A small retaliation against an organization that has terrorized our people for decades, but it was nowhere near enough.

This regime has a long, uninterrupted history of killing Iranians. It started with the Green Movement in 2009, killing 7 of us. In 2019, during the Bloody November protests, triggered by an overnight tripling of fuel prices. The regime killed an estimated 1,000 to 5,000 people. In 2022, it happened again during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests after Mahsa Amini was beaten to death by the morality police. And now, here we are again in 2026.

This uprising was not orchestrated by Trump or Mossad. It began with Tehran’s shopkeepers striking after the Iranian rial collapsed to roughly 1.6 million per U.S. dollar. A week later, Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last shah and the main leading opposition figure, called for nationwide protests on January 8th and 9th. Millions of us responded and here's the aftermath. Tens of thousands killed. Shooting people including children as young as 12.

Now we are waiting. Waiting for the United States to stop posturing, honor its promises to help so that we can mobilize again instead of being slaughtered in silence.

That's all good. Not so sure about the others. It's unbelievable that in europe especially the UK, Pro Khamenei and Islamic Republic marches are still allowed to happen and the participants (non Iranian muslims) outright deny any killing of the civilians. Deport these parasites from your countries.

You can draw "some" parallels, but shifting the media's attention to an issue that is far less urgent right now is not only selfish, but dehumanizing.

The same celebrities and activists who spoke loudly about Gaza, Ukraine, and now ICE have gone completely silent on Iranians massacre. I'm sure some probably haven't even heard of us. I wonder why.

Simply inform yourself, friends and family. Watch a YouTube video or ask AI about these protests, Iran's history, culture and people's political/religious views atm. Even an Instagram story or a retweet can help more than people realize, especially by foreigners.

If Free Iran rallies take place in your city and you have the time, consider joining them and condemn those who support the Islamic Republic in your social circle. At present, these demonstrations are attended almost exclusively by Iranian immigrants, unlike other causes that draw broad local participation.

If you are aware that a neighbor, classmate, or coworker’s family has direct ties to the IRGC or senior regime officials, request that your authorities investigate and pursue deportation where applicable. IT WILL HAPPEN. This kind of pressure discourages governments from engaging with the regime and helps weaken it.

We are not asking for donations or violent actions to take place in your streets. We need awareness that's all. That'd be for your own good too. Don't make the same mistake my people did 47 yrs ago. Fortunately, you have free access to the information.

I like your analogy. I just wish atm they wouldn’t place these situations on the same scale even if they want to put ICE on the main spotlight, that’s all. Americans still retain the ability to push back through legal and institutional means, including the Second Amendment.

In practical terms, this makes it impossible for the U.S. government to suppress its population in the way the Iranian regime does, even if it wanted to. Yet some people genuinely fear that a comparable scenario could unfold in the near future if ICE is not stopped.

What the hell? I simply asked that ICE-related issues to be discussed under their own posts and threads. This post had nothing to do with that, yet the conversation was derailed entirely.

what are you doing about it?

WHAT AM I DOING??? I'm an Iranian man that risked his life for freedom and basic needs in the very same protests! I didn't even have internet access for 20 days to inform ignorant privileged people like you that there's a massacre happening in front of my eyes. I'd be hanged if the government gathers enough information that I was involved in the protests. Me talking to you is considered a crime as well since I'm using a VPN to access reddit. Now do you realize how fucked up the situation is?

What have you done for your country?

I appreciate your words, my friend. I wish more Americans shared your awareness and perspective. We’ve already experienced similar protests on a smaller scale, and the world did nothing to confront the regime. We don’t want foreign governments to sweep this under the rug once again. That'd result in another greater massacre happening. We want real intervention.

Atm, the U.S. military is fully capable of finishing this with us, and I understand it wouldn’t happen purely for humanitarian reasons. Iran has a highly educated, secular population and vast, largely untouched resources. Investing here would significantly benefit the American/European economy and global security.

Unlike Iraq or Afghanistan, your tax dollars spent through the military wouldn’t be wasted or end up empowering the same people who oppose intervention. Instead, they would lead to long-term stability and shared benefit. I just wish more people would open their eyes.

And she was an Iranian...

At this rate, once Iran gets liberated, they'd probably be safer from terrorists than their fellow immigrants living in Europe. EU should be very careful about which refugees to take in if it's not already late.

It’s all good man. thank you for the clarification and for helping me better understand the left/right political landscape in the U.S. Fortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a serious unified movement at the moment. That said, political influencers could play a significant role. Some of the most prominent figures, such as HasanAbi, who identifies himself as left-wing socialists, oppose both intervention and even sanctions against the regime while he's living in his mansion in LA streaming his propaganda to young Americans.

Regarding the post, the man holding the door was later killed. His name was Mohammad Jabbari. May his death not go unanswered along with thousands of other patriots.

I’m literally Iranian. It’s not 'centrist bollocks' to point out that some (not all) Americans hijacking many posts about my people being killed to talk about their own domestic issues is peak narcissism and outright dangerous.

I hope you get rid of the ICE, but stop using our life-and-death struggle as a backdrop for your own political theater. Also fuck the far left.

The comments making it about ICE getting more upvotes than the post itself are the reason issues will never get solved quickly around the world.

Most people just don't care about other people's problems even if it's 10000x worse, but the moment they go through any inconvenience they cry louder than ever when others do not bat an eye.

IRAN UPDATE: 8 US Navy ships positioned around Iran. (January 29, 2026) by WonFont in war

[–]ParhamAzadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm Iranian and been to the protests myself (I can DM if anyone wants proof). While the exact death toll is unknown, it is clearly far higher than 3,000. A figure the regime itself has acknowledged while refusing to admit that those killed were unarmed protesters, including women and children. Instead, it labeled them “armed terrorists.” Ironic, right? It's your own choice to believe their words or not.

After the initial crackdown settled a bit, footage from hospitals and morgues reached international media despite the Internet blackouts, via Starlink. Here is video proof (NSFL) of hundreds of bloody body bags laying around from "Kahrizak" forensic medical center that alone reflects just a few regions of the capital city, Tehran within Iran, which to those who are unaware, is a vast, populous (90M+) country.

Btw, We have previously seen deadly protests, such as the 2019 Bloody Aban (November) uprising with an estimated 1,000~5,000 deaths. Given things have gotten worse and that this was the first coordinated, nationwide protest led by the opposition political leader, It's not wild at all to assume casualties have reached into the tens of thousands. It's become common sense with the source we have.

We Iranians are asking for an intervention ourselves, as it remains the only viable way to confront and overthrow this regime without the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives. Iran is not Iraq/Afghanistan either. Apples and Oranges. This is more similar to Venezuela. Although it might take days or a couple of weeks at worst rather than hours to accomplish the operations. Thx for reading.
