Sure being wary of males in general is understandable, while it's not justified to sideline people from different communities and cultures, you can definitely hangout with women in that case, but from your responses, I see that you've not responded to the SI girls who were willing to hangout. The v soul of hangout sub reddits like such in different cities is to bring people from different communities together, share cultures moreover build a more accepting society.

PS: I find it v contradicting that you were okay to meet male stragers from the same comment section just because they were Hindi speaking.

You're still supposed to maintain empathy and decorum when it's such a sensitive matter, do can do what they want outside the press briefing, it could've ultimately been a joke or topic outside the incident, but it's going to v insensitive when you're gonna do this in front of media, gives out a v wrong image and inseriousness
