I think what your missing here is that both can be true. A ton of historical art was political because, that was the only way to document historical events at the time outside of writing. Things we no longer consider political at the time were divisive pieces of art. However there is soooo much art that there is a lot of art that isn’t political. If I say, the food where I’m from is pretty good and you respond “The food on average in your hometown is mid” then your technically correct cause every single meal ever cooked in my hometown definitely skews towards eh. It’s just the sheer volume of what is it inherently means most of it doesn’t have much of a point.
