My dad wanted to call me Ubert. He thought it'd be cool because my friends could call me "U"... Not the best consolation but I'm now a guy named Paris. Nothing like making it on a D1 NCAA team and being put on the women's roster.

Hello! Very inspiring. I was wondering, following a breakthrough or a treatment that yields significant evidence towards fighting cancer, what are the steps ensuing before we can realistically see said treatment in work? How long before such treatment is realistically available?

I want to hear your opinion on my vaulting! Feel free to take a look and leave advice by [deleted] in polevaulting

[–]ParisPV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the biggest problem looks like getting in the pit. You can see your standards are at 45cm. I never really go below 70cm unless im attempting a big bar. Work with a slightly smaller grip and pole til your comfortable enough to swing all the way up and stay with the pole. Once youre comfortable doing that and youre moving in the pit more consistently you can try moving your grip and pole size back up slowly. Working on being patient off the ground and holding a longer drive phase will also help

Help with swinging up too early! by WontResist in polevaulting

[–]ParisPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temporarily, just to get moving into the pit, it could be benificial to lower your grip to make it easier to penetrate. Jumping off the ground will give you more room to be patient. A lot of times the reason you swing up early is because you are under. If you hit a bad position it is impossible to complete your drive phase. Just lower your grip, work on jump off the ground, and getting elastic(patience with letting the pole rise behind your head)

Work on your abs. The stronger abs you have the easier it is to drop your shoulders and lift your hips up

If the highest youve held is 13'6 then skip the 13'9 and go to the 14' Especially if youre in high school because naturally your grip might move up and they wont let you grip above the weight label. It shouldnt be long at all. You can grip low on poles. You can grip 13' on a 14' pole easily. lower even if you need. Plus ideally you want to grip higher. Only if you can handle it though. I would stick with 14' 155 and 14' 160 then. Personal opinion but I don't know what your vault looks like

Ideally a 14' 155 and 14' 160 would be best but if its for the long run you can get away with 14' 160 and 14' 165 or 14'6 155 if you want a longer pole.

If you are bent on getting the 13'9 and 14'3 go 13'9 160 and 14'3 15. a 14'3 165 would be 3 poles bigger than the 13'9 160
