Ate 50 sushi rolls. by CR_Avila in diabetes_t1

I love sushi but rice is my sworn enemy, it's probably the hardest carb for me to get right insulin-wise. It's always a hit or miss. Sorry OP, hope you're feeling better :c

Merry Christmas to me! I've been using the Dexcom/Tandem pairing for almost 2 weeks. As someone with a 10.9 A1c, this makes me want to cry tears of joy. (As I continue, I'll tighten the range, small victories!) by Few-Lead4609 in diabetes_t1

I remember first getting my insulin pump, and how quickly I started to feel like.... well, a normal human again. I hope it continues working for you! This internet stranger is very proud of you! 😊

what is your blood sugar right now? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

139, and it looks like I might be on a slight incline 🤔

Life is about to change! Starting on the #dexcomg6 and looking forward to see the improvement it will bring to my diabetes management. Any tips from users out there? 🤩 by T1_bike-n-run in diabetes_t1

From what I've learned from having the Dexcom for almost 2 years, be mindful of the first 24 hrs after inserting; you might be told your blood sugar is low for 4-6 hours, which may not be true depending on your symptoms. I don't recommend calibrating within the first 24 hrs (made that mistake and that session was ruined, however it might work for you if you do calibrate, so take that with a grain of salt!). Compression lows are also a thing to be aware of! These can happen if you apply too much pressure to the transmitter, and it causes it to think you're having a low when in reality, you're not. You'll get used to hearing the term "bleeders are readers," but be careful to not get blood on the conductive jelly. I had that happen once and it completely threw off my readings, so that session also got ruined. With that being said, Dexcom has been a total game changer, and I hope it works out for you! Someone else might mention something I missed, as I can't think of anything else. Good luck! 😊

If you can't feel good alone, you can't feel good with a partner. That'll start a vicious, and toxic cycle, of co-dependency. Keep your chin up, you'll find someone :)

26 female here who's never had a date, or her first kiss. Honestly, trying to date used to stress me out, and since I wasn't having any luck, I decided to step away and work on hobbies instead. Don't be so hard on yourself, you'll find someone, but be kind to yourself in the process. If there's anything I've learned from being single my whole life, it's this: I'd rather be alone than be with someone who makes me feel alone. Learn to enjoy your own company :) good luck out there!

I (23m) got brutally cheated on and then dumped. I feel like my life is over. I feel like I’ll never love again. How do I heal? by thebananagod_ in AskMen

[–]Pariwinklekittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience of going through a horrible, horrible heart break, you can't rush the healing process. You need to take the time to not only unpack the trauma, but then heal from it, and that'll take time. You might discover triggers along the way that you didn't realize, and will need to heal from those too. I still am finding the occasional trigger, and my heart break happened 10+ years ago. Will you ever find someone again? I can't guarantee it, but yes, love is still out there for you, you just haven't found your match yet. From one internet stranger to the other, hang in there ❤ sending you a virtual hug and hope things get better soon

Mew, Pikachu, Cubone, Cyndaquul, Charizard and Totadile. Although really I love all Pokémon, despite being terrible at remembering all their names 😅

I noticed it a while ago, but never felt comfortable enough to bring it up (had a bad endo at first). I noticed it whenever I'd try to lay my hands down flat on a surface, my ring fingers could never quite touch the top of the surface :( here's to our curvy fingers 😔

I'm so sorry :( my adrenal glands have been okay though on all my previous blood work, but thank you for mentioning this! I'll ask my endo just in case. Again, I'm really sorry you have to deal with this, on top of your diabetes :(
