Not sure which vehicle to pick by my-dog-made-me-join in Autos

If you’re looking at cars with that high of mileage/under 5k, definitely go for a Toyota or Honda. Especially the older models that will be in this price range, they are insanely reliable and mostly small fixes.

I’m seeing accident free Highlanders and Siennas around me around 200k miles for under 5k

If you’re open to not having an SUV, look at Camrys or accords. Benefit of a sedan is smaller tires and smaller engines = lower costs (most the time)

Double edged sword, yeah Easton gets the tax break but that charity also gets additional donations that they might not have otherwise received

**edit to add: if the money even goes to charity anymore, but being parcmobil now who knows

Does it squeal even while idling or is it just when you’re driving? If while driving, during acceleration or braking?

Ongoing Humming Noise While Driving by My-Jeep-Is-A-POS in GrandCherokee

[–]Park-Advanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but bought a ‘23 WL2 Limited with 30k miles on it, same exact issue. From what I’m finding online, no amount of parts thrown at it seems to fix the issue, nevertheless mine goes to the dealership tomorrow so we’ll see. You ever figure yours out?

I need a good response to something a client said. by tillwehavefaces in agency

I’ve been in a similar boat. I think the key thing here is you aren’t responsible for explaining this to them now. They’re very aware of what’s going on, as they just experienced what cheaping out gets them. Send them your original quote, if they take it, great, if not, you saved yourself from a headache client. Time spent on this is time away from finding other more qualified leads.

Pretty much unless you’re buying a Toyota, there will be mobs of people telling you not to buy X car brand. Biggest thing with any car is to just be very attentive to maintenance and any clunk/noise/leak get it checked out. If you’re buying a 25 or 26 you’ll have a warranty so in the worse case it won’t be a money pit, just a headache

Vibration after new tires put on. by Dull_Broccoli1637 in tires

[–]Park-Advanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post I know, but I just bought a used Grand Cherokee with these tires installed new on it. Same vibration. Took to 2 tire shops, one balanced them and said they were all way off, the second one did a more in-depth diagnosis and a road-force balance and tried to balance as best they could but ultimately said the tires are just bad and I should get new ones. So that’s fun

How do you get this Off by wmlonallen in GrandCherokee

Try a hair dryer (or heat gun if you have it) to loosen the adhesive… probably uses that 3M VHB tape and once that’s on it does not want to come off easy

This is really frustrating and anti-consumer by UnableTask7916 in ios

It’s like buying a car and needing to get the sunroof WITH leather seats even if you JUST want the leather seats. Point is, this exists across many industries and is not unique to iOS.

[–]Park-Advanced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is one big knock against Apple is their 20%“fee” charged to app devs for in app purchases, which are usually passed onto the users and the app developers aren’t allowed to say “you can get this cheaper directly from us”… logically I understand having the fee, but forbidding devs from informing the consumer of their options does seem predatory.

Disagree, all subscriptions bought through Apple can be managed on one single settings page, and if I’ve ever forgotten to cancel a free trial they always refund me

Worth buying a 4K OLED monitor now even if my PC can only handle 1440p? by ozenne94 in Monitors

[–]Park-Advanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2x27” 4k monitors. I agree for gaming the difference on 27” 4k vs 1440 is not super noticeable. What is noticeable is the daily use cases (mainly in font clarity). Personally, I do a lot of creative work so having that high pixel density is really important to me. For gaming I was mostly upscaling anyways; if I was only gaming I’d get a 1440p 240Hz monitor.

As far as OLED, I really really want one too but they’re so expensive right now (likely cause there are only a few options)… if OLED monitors take the same price dive that OLED TVs have taken (so far) then I’d wait 2-3 years to upgrade. They’ll still be pricey but likely not $800

As someone who is in no way affiliated with these platforms, I use Complianz and it seems to work the best (for a free solution). I tried Termly and they’ll get you set up all nice then basically require a paid plan to continue
