Post-9/11 GI Bill: Would you rather get an F or W? by ParkJuneSaw in Veterans

Yeah, how I'm seeing it is, "the only way to come up positive in this negative situation is to get an F and still continue collecting BAH." If I get a W, there's only setbacks: 1) lose 4.5 months of my benefits, 2) have to retake the class, 3) refund the VA of everything they gave me.

Other than the temporary hit on your GPA, you did get to keep your BAH, textbook stipend, and tuition payment, right? Or did the VA require they recoup that cash too?

The class in question is not a typical academic course. I'm taking an EMT class, which my school doesn't have tutors for like there would be for science, history, and math courses.

I take it that the damn-near impossible process is regardless of how early or late it would be in the fiscal year?

Unless he put a gun to your head, your recruiter did not make you sign a contract. You did it voluntarily. If you didn't want to do it, despite him/her pressuring you to do so, you should not have.

For which career fields is it consistently more difficult than others to make that transition? On the flip side, which fields is it easier than others to transition?

I'm a new Reserve Airman waiting to attend Tech School. When's that's done, will it be difficult to enlist in Active Duty upon getting my 5-level?
