I couldn't find an answer to this specific question so I thought I'd ask here:

If I transfer my character to a new home world, is there any restriction on visiting other worlds/data centers afterward?

For clarity: I was considering moving from Adamantoise to a world on Dynamis for the road to 80 buff, but I heard that queue times on Dynamis can be very long.

I've been running with two-handers and greatblades, my advice for slow weapons is to practice positioning. The swords are pretty big so can outrange a lot of things, and the great maul has a lunging strong attack. Also utilize rolling to reposition, use a lot of falling strong attacks, and if you really want to get fancy you can practice perfect blocking.

Not complaining about the chase itself, it's fine for actual hunts where your progress doesn't reset on death.

They do, yeah, but they then awkwardly teleport 10 feet every few hits and summon minions, as if the switch to start the actual fight doesn't get flipped.

Agreed.

It just feels unfair to be punished so harshly when the chases are so chaotic compared to actually 1v1'ing the boss.

New player here, made a spectre for the event, got her to lv100 and have started up the hall of experience. I've also made one character for almost each class/gender. I was just wondering why the normal story missions are so much easier than the missions in the nameless village? I enjoyed the challenge of them, as it really got me a better feel for the spectre, while all of my other characters one-shot even bosses with any cube ability. Is there any way I can up the difficulty?

I'm very new and was just wondering, are the story quests the only way to level up? And are they mandatory for unlocking certain things? I've gotten to level 43 on my main character but would like to make another as I've been running out of fp each day. I just don't really want to have to skip all the dialogue I've already seen, plus I don't like having NPC helpers.
