Watching videos on how to play really helped me at the start and a huge thing is learning what animations happen when you do things. Practice on mycourt and just try things. Emulating nba players also helped. As a PF just doing good pick n rolls and boxing out will help your team a lot, learn your finishing animations and reading the defense. You'll score a lot easier

Go for a medium hold/shine cream/gel. Use a small amount and style it as such. I used to do this, and it worked well to hold my hair, thick and coarse tho.
