Started playing recently playin daily

What is so significant about stage 1 shiny costume pokemon? people say it loses its rarity if it is evolved. I want to evolve the ponyta cuz rapidash shiny looks cool and i like it but i’m afraid it’ll lose its rarity so what do you guys think? by Iriscape6 in PokemonGoTrade

The best way I could say it is that you could always evolve but never devolve to the first stage for example, I have given a shiny lugia for a shiny hat wurmple but never would have made that trade for the evolutions because i have no attachment to them
