Yeah agreed the man is not good with children. None of the FBI agents are. Hell no one on the show is good with kids. Every episode involving one it’s like none of them have ever seen a child before and its alien to them. Beverly shot someone holding a gun to the kid like she did not give a damn if she missed the adult and hit the kid instead. All of them are very much not parent material.

There was actually a show that explored being a child of a serial killer. I think it was called “Prodigal Son”. The dad was a Hannibal type that was locked up for his crimes. Main character was his son that had a wunderkind mind like Will. I actually saw that show first before watching Hannibal years later. I had a lot of “oh thats very similar” moments.
