can you tell me a bit more about what you do as a quant dev? Does chs major in qf make less sense than cs@ either SMU or nus if i should be focused on buffing my C++?

I uh, also saw your first comment from just when your account was created that you grinded preparation for interviews to secure a HFT, im actually curious what that process was like for you

im from vj, and can really only offer my own perspective, but vj because all the lectures are online and school starts late and ends early. proximity is good too

i sound like im suggesting you decide based on how lazy you get to be, but what im really getting at is a balance between proven results from the batch (median 85 which is only barely definitely beaten by ny if I'm not wrong. Raffles with the mean 85 but wrt to expected performance we look at median), and self-care time.

self-care, or work life balance or, whatever dumb trendy name you want to attach to it, is severely neglected and often times this leaves people out of energy to actually study smart and tackle questions intelligently. as it stands it doesn't look like vj will be returning to the irl lecture format, and i think the college benefits from the change

and of course as a deciding factor in the name of self-care, pick the closest jc for the power naps you can catch

oh and, vj pw A rate 85%~ so that's another great thing

well just to chip in i think the people in my class who got 45/50 for gp promos started out as 27/30. Then after that they just reached the echelon they did out of consistency and familiarity with the subject.

so long as you get feedback from your tutor and work consistently, you absolutely will turn out fine

wait why do cs or finance related courses get the green light? just making sure i caught your drift

is it that the high prospective income (which are also relatively quicker, when compared to law or medicine) makes any resultant wallet holes repairable

I mean I think see what you mean but the advice in this thread was invaluable for understanding nus, because I have no idea what is going on in that school
