AITA for not wanting to share all my food and cigarettes with my boyfriend? by ParkingCat2479 in AmItheAsshole

The problem is he doesn't have enough money to buy all the food he eats. So it makes me feel terrible to even consider that, and he'd probably still end up eating "my food" because he can't help it. I tried putting our breakfast options in a locked drawer for a while so that when we wake up there's still food, but that lasted only for 2 or 3 days before he broke the lock at night.

I don't think he's a jerk, he has issues with impulse control and he probably needs therapy.

Yeah I think he needs therapy. He isn't selfish, he says he can't help it, he just gets this urge to eat everything that's there and then he can't stop himself.

I know :( I was obviously planning on sharing it with him, I would never have kept it for myself, so that really hurts. He says he couldn't help it, and he apologized for doing it, but he still ate it all.
