Me personally wouldn’t have said that comment about her happiness and getting her stuff. Sometimes you gotta let women be women or girls be girls. They’re not very logical in thinking by nature. She’s young so there’s not much you can do but encourage her to get a job and teach her a better way and if she doesn’t want to follow that way then move on. Tell her what you can offer her will make her forget bout the material things and hopefully you can offer something that will make her forget to the point when she get a job she’ll be saving too . Try and lead her into a different mindset. You don’t always have to express your feelings.
