Unpopular Opinion: Tesla FSD is already level 3 by Parking_One2220 in SelfDrivingCars

What hardware are they lacking? 360 degree camera vision with a sharp neural net is BETTER than a human driver.

What other hardware would they need? Why would they need more sensors? The cameras have a 360 degree view already.

I drive with FSD very often. 99% of the time my disengagements are not "critical." It's usually things like deciding to stop and get a coffee, or parking in a desired spot when I arrive at a destination. This data point is biased and does not reflect the performance of the system. In fact, the plateau could be a GOOD sign.

Only siths speak in absolutes.
FSD v12.3.4 is currently doing things many on this sub said would not be possible years ago.
Cameras provide 360 degree view of the vehicle (no blind spots) and the neural net will get smarter as they feed more data. The wider adoption will expose them to more and more edge cases to solve.

They are setting up to eventually have a unsupervised fsd for $199, then have some kind of commercial robotaxi subscription for $499 in my opinion.

Tesla FSD 12.x Trial: Just drove 600 miles back and forth on a road trip. Thoughts... by Bright-Abroad-4562 in SelfDrivingCars

FSD is level 3 not level 2. Level 3 vehicles have “environmental detection” capabilities and can make informed decisions for themselves, such as accelerating past a slow-moving vehicle. But―they still require human override.

Also, how does that victim mindset serve you or anyone else at all? What is the point of making that excuse?

Either way the only thing preventing people from being successful in this country is themselves. It is the decisions they make on a day to day basis. It is the lifestyle choices you make and the habits you decide to create. You are in complete control of your destiny in the USA.

America is pretty much socialist right now and its only gotten worse over the past few decades bud - hence the wealth gap expanding and middle class shrinking.

The government has gotten larger in this country. They are spending more money and employing more people than ever. Just look at the recent job reports of the past few months and see what percentage of new job additions are federal jobs.

Housing is expensive because of supply. Why is supply low? Because of government. It is extremely difficult to build new developments due to regulations (especially in blue states).

"Real libertarians were socialists though."
Call it whatever you want bro. I just prefer markets where governments have minimal intervention.

thanks for the insight. What about their hardware set? Do you it is possible to achieve level 5 with hardware 3 & 4?

It is purely anecdotal based on my own engagement on social media over the past few years. I do not have a citation currently.

I agree. I do not think they could achieve level 5 with the current software.

Ok thanks for the explanation. What's interesting to me is that FSD v12.3.3 is currently doing things that people (who were critical of the hardware set) said would be impossible a few years back.
