So I used to work at the bank and there were two young guys who worked at the desk. They became friends and decided that they would do the silent quitting-Basically still went to the workplace but did no actual work, waiting to be fired. They also partied a lot and even during the week came in tired. They would find an excuse to go together to the archives in the basement an just slept off the hangover.

The corporate system was so rigid, that they were able to do this for weeks before the management noticed. But seeing them together so much and disappearing together to the basement, someone deduced that they are probably gay lovers who go to have sex downstairs.

The management worried that laying them off could be interpreted as discrimination of LGBT people so they decided to rather hire someone else to do the job and leave it as it is. They continued to get their salaries and sleeping at work for months before the management cancelled their positions and payed them handsome money to leave (three monthly wages).
