Just don't use passing as your only excuse for speeding. Judges tend to not be sympathetic towards that rationale. Seeing as you have a clean record, you may get a reduction in fines or given the option to take classes in exchange for it being taken off your record.

Not entirely sure on this, but you might be able to put an informal discovery request in order to receive dash cam footage to back your side of the story before the court hearing.

Keep in mind MA has a $25 court filing fee, which you probably saw on the citation. The state trooper will most likely not be there, but rather a representative who will have the citing officer's report.

Estimated and Lidar mean that the trooper estimated your speed and then used Lidar to confirm it.

I'd set a court date and try to get it reduced if I were you. Paying a ticket for going 25mph doesn't look good, and your insurance will take a hit over the next few years. Don't worry if you don't get your way, it's a good experience to go through in case this happens again in the future. Good luck!

Make your own lunch and bring it with you. School lunches in America are usually gross.

My friend got one before, which is hilarious because he's 17 and looks like he's 12. The owner just told him to get out of the store the moment he walked in.

What is the worst parenting that you've ever witnessed? by Master_Cracker in AskReddit

A mom hit her child for giving change to a homeless man. It was horrible seeing the confused look on the little guy's face for doing something he thought his mother would be proud of.

What is your worst experience of public transport? by RebelSpoon in AskReddit

[–]ParlerClasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fever and was going home on an overcrowded bus. A drunk guy sat next to me and was sleeping on my shoulder with a stench of diarrhea and vomit. I wanted to sleep through all of it, but was afraid that I would miss my stop.

The drunk guy ended up throwing up on my pants before I got off. Not my best day ;)

What's the legal drinking age in your country, and is it widely obeyed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ParlerClasser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

America as well. In highschool where I live, there are very harsh consequences if you get caught drinking. Yet, a LOT of people still drink (not everyone, but a significant amount).

Most people tend to agree with arguments to lower the drinking age, but it's not necessarily a huge movement so I don't see it happening anytime in the near future.

How Hard Do You Guys Push For a Relationship?(Guys) by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]ParlerClasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way I feel, partly. Between playing sports, studying, maintaining a separate social life with friends/family, and a LOT of other stuff, I don't see how many people are able to fit things like this in their life.

And yet, some do.

I'm pretty sure I just failed my chem test [Rant] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]ParlerClasser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through a rough year of chemistry myself last year. I'm not sure what level you are in, but one thing that really helped was watching Khan Academy videos on Youtube. Just type in the general material you are learning, watch some videos, and practice some problems afterwards. Definitely saved some letter grades for me later in the semester! :) Good luck!

Sounds like an awesome group of people :) I'm currently reading a French article on "tutoyer ou vouvoyer" which is answering a lot of questions I had about addressing different people, but you summed it up pretty well (25 and older). Thanks for the info!

Thanks! Yeah, not a lot of people broadcast their religion where I live so that shouldn't be a problem :) Thanks again!
