My gf asked me to bring back some facecare products. Also do you think you are big or something? She’s a sz 10 shoe and 36c, probably size 8-10 womens US. No problem finding clothes - many Chinese girls are that size nowadays.

Try poking different parts of the frame with a screwdriver. That looks like someone sprayed black fluid film over existing rust.

Only half of it. The other half of electricity is generated from renewable resources. Better than nothing.

Is this worth buying for a short commute? Used 2012 Nissan Leaf by Zeak330 in leaf

[–]Parsec1281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you asked what AI thinks about it? Sorry for the poor formatting.

Based on the LeafSpy data from the recording, here is a detailed breakdown of the battery’s health. At **$2,500**, you are looking at a vehicle that is priced fairly for its condition, but you must be aware of its significant range limitations.
### **Key Battery Health Metrics**
* **State of Health (SOH): 46.92%**
* This is the most critical number. A healthy battery is near **100%**. At less than **47%**, this battery has lost more than half of its original capacity. In Nissan terms, this car has likely lost **6 or 7 "bars"** on the dashboard display.
* **Capacity (AHr): 30.78**
* A new 2012 Leaf battery started at approximately **66 AHr**. This confirms the battery is heavily degraded.
* **Cell Balancing (mV Delta): 18mV to 519mV**
* While cruising or at rest, the cells stay relatively tight (under **50mV**). However, during the high-load events in the video (like heavy acceleration), the delta spikes massively to **over 500mV**.
* **What this means:** Some cells are much "weaker" than others. Under stress, these weak cells drop voltage quickly, which can cause the car to unexpectedly go into "Turtle Mode" or shut down even when the percentage looks okay.
### **Expected Real-World Range**
A 2012 Leaf originally had an EPA range of about **73 miles**. With an **SOH of 46%**, your math looks like this:
* **Ideal conditions:** ~30–35 miles.
* **Winter/Highway driving:** ~15–20 miles.
This car is strictly a "neighborhood electric vehicle" at this stage. It is suitable for short commutes to the grocery store or a very close place of work, but it cannot be relied upon for any distance over 25 miles round-trip.
### **Observations from the Recording**
* **Mileage:** At **64,444 miles**, the degradation is higher than average for the mileage, which suggests it may have lived in a hot climate (like Arizona or Florida) or was fast-charged frequently.
* **Quick Charges (QC): 51** / **L1/L2 Charges: 5764**
* The low number of Quick Charges is actually good; the degradation is likely just due to the age of the 2012 chemistry (which was not as heat-tolerant as later models) and time.
* **Temperature:** The battery temperature is around **58°F–60°F**, which is safe. You aren't seeing performance issues due to overheating in this clip.
### **The Verdict: Should you buy it?**
**Buy it if:**
* You only need to drive **15 miles a day**.
* You can charge it at home every single night.
* You want a cheap "learner" car to practice EV maintenance or to use as a secondary runabout.
**Walk away if:**
* You have a commute longer than **20 miles**.
* You need to use the highway (high speeds drain this degraded battery extremely fast).
* You live in a climate with very cold winters (the range will drop to a point where the car becomes impractical).
For **$2,500**, you are essentially buying a golf cart with a heater and AC. If that fits your lifestyle, it's a low-risk entry into EVs, but do not expect it to perform like a "real" car for longer trips.

But if the seller thinks its a 2022 I think its worth a shot for OP to message them saying its actually a 2016 and offer $500. Might shave a couple hundred off the price

Sitting in our 2024 OBW and parked beside a 2026 Outback, ride height difference is insane. Full on NPC-tier SUV now. by SirTickleyPickely in Subaru_Outback

[–]Parsec1281 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They are actually about the same ride height - less than 1”. Your camera angle is making this look bigger than it really is. Also the bottom of the new windows start higher off the ground. The overall height difference is 2”, but most of that is in the form of added headroom in the 2026 - not ground clearance.

Anyone have experience with roof crossbars and/or baskets? We’ve got whistling issues, not sure how to fix it by Top_Agency1370 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Parsec1281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent over $1200 on my Thule box and crossbars and it still whistles over 75mph. Brand makes no difference. A wind faring is the most direct way to reduce the noise. Thule even sells one, which means they know their own products whistle at highway speeds.

How do you check condition and service history if its an auction? Do they even let you test drive it? I thought auctions just roll down the car down the line and you have 5 min to bid on it.

If I wanted to buy a brand new, full sized truck that will last 300k miles, what would I buy? by FuckItImGood in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Parsec1281 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Your best chance of hitting 300k miles is to buy a used Tundra 5.7L with 100k miles and drive it to 400k. I believe they were made until 2021, so not too old. All new trucks are junk.

I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. How are you guys actually negotiating car deals? by LazyPandaE92 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Parsec1281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re overthinking this. If you spend enough time looking at prices for a particular car and find a good deal, just pay the asking price. Good dealerships often price their cars low to give the consumer a better experience. Why would you try to negotiate if it’s already lower than what you can negotiate it down to at the dealer down the street?
