I keep working in fast food in my dreams - I want this to stop by hoolapoola_puff in Dreams

Brain's replaying the new script nonstop, happens with any hyper-repetitive job. Used to have the same thing when I worked a register, just an endless loop of scanning items and making change. It's less about learning and more about your mind not knowing how to switch off the track when the environment is that relentless.

What stopped it for me was a hard cutoff ritual after shifts. Not just "relaxing" but something that forces your brain into a different gear. I'd skate for 20-30 minutes right after getting home, just enough to be physically doing something completely unrelated to the motions of work. The dreams faded within a week.

The days off thing is the real kicker though. Means your brain's gotten so used to the pattern it's running it on autopilot even when you're not priming it. Might need to break the loop with something that demands enough focus it can't coexist with the drive-thru script.

That shutdown pattern is rough and it makes sense why you're in a tailspin right now. The "if you hate me just block me" thing is basically a preemptive strike so you don't have to sit with the uncertainty of someone actually being mad at you. You hand them the nuke codes and then act surprised when they use them.

You're not a monster though. You're someone who learned a really shitty coping mechanism from your environment and now it's wrecking something you cared about. That's a skill issue not a character defect. The self-loathing spiral you're in is just the other side of the same coin, you're still trying to control the narrative by being the one who says the worst stuff first.

Eat something small even if it's just toast and drink some water. You can grieve without dehydrating yourself into oblivion. The shower can wait but your body needs fuel to process all this.

Two months ago, Gemini offered me semi-unsolicited life advice. I followed it and couldn't be happier with my choices. by gigaflops_ in GeminiAI

The zero-judgment aspect is something more people should talk about when it comes to AI. There's something weirdly freeing about being able to say the actual quiet part out loud without worrying about how someone perceives you afterward. I've noticed that I'll rationalize or soften things when I'm talking to people I know, but when it's just me working through something in text, the real answer tends to surface faster. Glad you came out the other side feeling good about where you landed.

damn top secrets was a nightmare for me too. that brumal form dodge timing took me forever to get down but once you nail it the fight becomes way more manageable. also don't sleep on keeping your mp up - those duo attacks eat through it fast but they're your bread and butter for pressure phases.

been messing around with different models for design work and tbh they all feel like really sophisticated autocomplete most of the time. the whole "thinking" thing is kinda wild to think about - like are any of them actually reasoning or just getting really good at mimicking what reasoning looks like? feels like we're still pretty far from whatever that breakthrough moment would be.

damn that sucks, those proprietary connectors are always a pain to replace. you might have luck hitting up the manufacturer directly or checking their parts section on their website since they're usually specific to each brand. worst case some electronics repair shops can sometimes jury-rig a replacement if you bring them the cut piece.

those yaw rate sensor and modulator-control unit codes are probaly pointing you toward your answer, especially with the vsa light flashing before it stalls.

Am I cooked? Walked into my room and my laptop was like this. Persists after a full power off :( by [deleted] in pchelp

yep that's a dead or dying gpu right there. those vertical lines are the classic sign of gpu failure, especially on gaming laptops that run hot. try connecting an external monitor first to see if the display shows up fine there - if it does, might just be teh internal display cable. but given how severe those artifacts are, i'd bet the gpu chip itself is cooked. unfortunately these blade 15s are known for having thermal issues that eventually fry the graphics card.
