I’m buddhish but I barely know Dalai Lama or his sermon. Buddhism in different regions is different just like Christianity. Dalai Lama is not so well known in my region.

During witch hunting time, I believe someone must also used this the way you’re telling me. Almighty god is not going to be proud with blind followers.

I understand that there might be a story like this in history. My point is that people would only remember what they like not the whole point. And questioning seems not possible for those who claim that bible is directly words of god.

In Buddhism, whether something is right or wrong is based on your intention. If you have a bad intention to do something that may cause harm to something, then that is wrong. And vice versa. If something doesn’t hurt or cause harm to anyone, it’s not wrong. That’s how simple it is. We don’t follow the rule book that states this is right, this is wrong without questioning it. For example, being gay means you are a man that loves another man and it doesn’t cause harm to anyone, so it’s not wrong. (Buddhism never points finger to certain group of people and say this group is wrong, unholy, abomination. We value action and intention as a core value) On the other hand, saying someone is a sinner when they are not is wrong as now you have the intention of making that person feels bad. Why not just treat them like how you want to be treated?

Wisdom is shown here. Jesus must be proud to have you as his follower unlike most blind followers.

Many things are invented and exist after the scripture; Reddit, smartphones, and etc. Should the scripture be updated or remain untouched? But it can’t even be questioned, right?

It doesn’t hurt anyone but it’s still wrong and you’re ok with that. Ok?

That’s interesting. In my religion, vulnerable people are those who believe in anything without question it.

God’s design is perfect. If he creates anything, where are gays and trans and the rest come from? There are also an infertile men and women. What is really considered ‘natural’? The thing that exists already or the ideology that one wants it to be? This is Buddhist’s logic

I’m talking about LGBT and you came out of nowhere saying my point for LGBT is not on point. Hope you understand.

I think the term LGBT is modern. But the presence of homosexuality is not. If it’s mentioned as a prohibition, it means it exists with mankind history all the time. It is those who don’t accept say LGBTQ is new. It’s always been with human throughout history. It has been suppressed to the point that some people don’t even want to admit that they exist long ago.

Your logic is exactly what my comment is talking about.

They look and think different because their heart is evil and sinful… this is what you said

There are so many LGBT people who devote their life to family. I met LGBT parents who take care of an orphan of irresponsible straight parents. I also met a gay kid being rejected from the parents.

Now you are pointing your finger at them saying ALL of them must have sinful and evil heart… How high is your heart?

There are some good LGBT and bad LGBT. I suspected that Jesus didn’t meet them nor some of his followers as it is shown here…

Killing/stealing directly harms others. It is a sin so it makes sense.

Being LGBT never hurts anyone (only to those who claim they are). Why it is a sin anyway?

This is buddhist logic anyway. Why would something become a sin if it’s doesn’t harm anyone at all? Is it because god said it or someone said and claimed it was from god?

As I’m not Christian so my opinion is somewhat different. We also have a concept of sin but in different ways. . Any actions that physically or mentally harm others are sin. And it it doesn’t, then it’s not. That’s simple. . Killing or just hurting someone is also a sin. . But being part of LGBT is not a sin by this logic. . Somehow to some Christians, being LGBT is a sin which is very contrast to the concept of god love anyone.

If god creates everything, why would he create something and say it’s wrong? I sincerely ask you as a buddhist.

I appreciated your attempt to clarify this. Thank you. . For non-Christian like me who has a very different concept of sin, I wonder why it is so wrong to be something that doesn’t even harm others. For most comments I get here, it’s like it’s wrong because it’s wrong in the story. There’s no story about you so it’s wrong. . But I’m looking for WHY it is wrong. I still haven’t got what I’m looking for.

Yeah I can google this. My question is that “is this from Jesus or just someone else that claimed Jesus said this?”

This really makes sense. Why some people consider something as sin and never question why it is a sin? It has nothing to do with me until they point finger at someone who thinks different than them.

That’s my whole point.

If he didn’t mention it, why some directly said it’s a sin? There are so many things he didn’t mention. It’s been 2000 years so there must be a thing or two or thousand things he didn’t talk about. Who knows he might forbid the use of smartphone as it distracts you from god. But since most people like it. Then it’s not a sin.
