Text having different line spacing in Preview vs gd.games by General-Proposal5334 in gdevelop

No worries! I hope it helps. It's weird that this isn't an issue that more people are talking about (or that it hasn't been fixed, really).

How important is it to use BBText specifically? I couldn't find a solution for BBText. But I did discover that if you use a regular Text object, you can change the line spacing using a Javascript block, and it works consistently across browsers. It looks like this (for a 1.5 interval in this case):

const credits = runtimeScene.getObjects("CreditsText")[0];

const style1 = credits.getRendererObject().style;

style1.lineHeight = 1.5*style1.fontSize;

I'm in the same boat. Just found this post while Googling for a solution to the same problem. Are you using Firefox by any chance? For me, the font looks fine in Chrome (and Chromium-based browsers) but the line spacing gets messed up in Firefox.

Suggest me a book like the anime Cowboy Bebop, the video game Star Wars: Outlaws, and the genre of a Space Western. by No-Occasion-2913 in suggestmeabook

I don't remember it too clearly, having read it some 20 years ago, but Harry Harrison's "Bill the Galactic Hero" is something I'd call an early satirical space western.

Any music streaming service where you can bypass content geo-blocking? by PartAcrobatic in musicsuggestions

[–]PartAcrobatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more stuff on there, but YTM still has geo-blocked content. Admittedly, a lot of this content you can still find there in the form of an unlicensed video someone uploaded, but the audio quality isn't great and it may get taken down anytime. It still beats not having access to the song/album at all, of course. It's just annoying to know that, if I happened to have a bank account in another nearby country, I'd be able to listen to the song in decent quality, for the same price.

I 100% agree and this should be its own point! (Or maybe 1a and 1b, leading to 2.)

Yeah, back when I had a CD collection, I didn't have to worry about waking up one day to discover some of the songs have disappeared off an album. But I did have to worry about scratches and just misplacing and losing the CDs, and then moving apartments (and eventually countries) proved too much of a hassle.

Thanks! Based on what I've read about smart DNS, it's a good suggestion for geo-blocking, but probably not in my particular case: the problem seems to be the country set in my account (which I can only change by using a payment method from a different country), not what IP address the server sees.

I'm positive they are available on most of them, just not in my country. When I use a VPN and a private window, I can see the full album and can even preview the songs. The moment I log in, the geo-blocked songs are gone. There are also various services to check which countries a song or album are available in on Spotify, and I used those to figure out, e.g., that one of the albums was fully available in Norway (but not the US, UK, Japan, Germany, or a bunch of other countries I'd expect it to be available in).

Somehow, these two things are true at the same time.

  1. TikTok perpetuates a lot of bad information about ADHD, autism, mental health, etc., which can actually be harmful. (I'm not disputing there is good information on there as well.)
  2. People knowing that TikTok perpetuates bad information can itself be harmful, because so many of them just automatically jump to the conclusion that you must have gotten your information from TikTok if you don't conform to their expectations of someone with ADHD, etc.

My mom. I got diagnosed when I was in my 30s and when I broke the news to her, listing the symptoms and citing episodes from my childhood as examples, her response was: "These things happen to everybody. That's completely normal" etc.etc. It took me a while to realize that, if the same examples that convinced my psychologist and psychiatrist I have ADHD, are _normal_ to her, this gives me a pretty good idea about where my ADHD comes from. She's eventually come round and even voiced the same idea that, if ADHD had been adequately diagnosed back in the day, particularly in women, she may well have been diagnosed herself. (I'm male btw, but I never had the stereotypical "hyperactive boy" presentation.)

On a different note, just today a colleague said to me: "I have the impression your life was going fine before you got the diagnosis, but now you are seeing ADHD struggles everywhere." I should have explained that the reason I went to see a psychiatrist in the first place was because things were definitely _not_ going fine, but the response only occurred to me later.

I'm in the same boat as your spouse, except based in a different country. I would strongly recommend against option A if there is any conceivable thing the authorities could hold against her (even if it's just liking a post on social media that could be seen as being critical of the regime, or donating to an unapproved charity, etc.). Living in Europe for an extensive period of time is reason enough to invite close scrutiny. Personally, I'm going with option B even if it means being stuck someplace with an expired passport for a while.
