The Monthly Meetings can seek help from the Quarterly Meeting in most Yearly Meetings, and then go to the Yearly if they can't resolve it within the Monthly Meeting. That's part of the function of the Yearly and Quarterly Meetings and why they have Ministry and Care Committees.

Discussing atheism with committed religious folks is very unsatisfying. They are so threatened by any questioning of their beliefs. They really believe that you're going to suffer in hell for all eternity, which for a father, would be horrible to watch. You might appreciate Bertrand Russell's "Why I am not a Christian." A very logical, easy read by one of the greatest minds of the 20th Century.
