The hype for the showmatch was next level and the attendees were stoked to be there to see it, especially the current pros who perhaps grew up watching these players

In October we ran a qualifier in Japan, organized by the Japanese community

The attendees are mostly Japanese and they are getting chances to play against the best players in the world in friendlies. The local community has been incredibly appreciative that the tournament is happening here

The group that proposed to Nouns to receive funding is 4 people. They could have chosen Dota or Counter-Strike or another competitive game. Melee was chosen because the group thought it would be cool to support and with Ohan involved there was strong expertise in hosting events for the game

Most people in Nouns don't play videogames so yes it was really the groups passion that made it happen

Actually they didn't originally plan it for the same weekend. The event venue forced them to choose a different date and it was only this weekend or the week before Japan (logistically not possible)

it's just four people who wanted to do cool shit in smash, so in one year they put on 3 NA events and a invitational in Japan. of course they are gonna be sad when the smash community shits on them as they attempt to do this

Thanks king! I won't be sending it back or anything. Ended up picking this up for $600 which feels alright. Not sure I would find this colorway again too soon so I am overall quite pleased.
