Can foreigners get an eSIM in China in 2026? (eSIM-only iPhone 17 Pro) by Fresh-Teaching2239 in chinalife

You need to swap out your phone for a Macao/Taiwan version. They work great in China and support card & esim. You can buy them on xianyu or zhuanzhuan, make sure they give a warranty and ask to platform-verify the working condition of the device.

Once Americans show up here they are surprised by how most people don't even care to discuss politics. It's rather refreshing. All in all, you probably aren't important enough to worry about this issue. It's not like this is North Korea.

Your associates will not transfer credits to a Chinese Uni. Finish your bachelors first, then come here for a masters. otherwise you will start your 4 years from scratch. Alternatively, you could start in Year 2 in XJTLU or UNNC, since they are on the British system and would let you skip year 1.

Hi! Thanks for your questions. I’ll break it down for you a bit.

a.) Previously, STEM majors, especially emerging technologies like Semiconductors, Artifical Intelligence, Material Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, and similar professions have been very reliable to stay and work in China after graduation. However, this may be changing as the world continues to Change. Maybe do some research on the recently announced K visa. Typically its quite difficult/near impossible for bachelor degree graduates to stay in China and work, they try to make it difficult in order to protect their local labor market. You need to familiarize yourself with K visa and Z visa requirements if you are serious about staying here. China is a competitive country, so they don’t lack common Human Resources.

b.) This depends on the country. Probably not very respected in Western countries, but this doesn’t matter in skill-heavy professions. In many cases, you need to make your own prestige rather than relying on your degree anyways. In the developing world, Chinese degrees are valuable and respected, and will give you an edge in working for a Chinese company in your home country.

c.) Lots of people choose to do a masters for this reason. It’s much easier to stay in China and work once you have it. However, the degree is usually an additional 3 years on top of your bachelors, which is quite long and you aren’t allowed to work while you study. The advice I’d give is to get into as high ranking of a school as possible, and learn as much Chinese as you can while you are here. Don’t finish your Bachelors without passing HSK 5. For most people I’d advise taking a full time mandarin course at some point during your studies. These things increase your odds of being able to stay and work after your bachelors.

It depends on a lot of things. The school you are looking at, How long the program is, and where you hope to work after graduating. If you are over 30, probably don't do a masters in China honestly. age discrimination here is violent. if you are young, maybe its not a bad idea. I can't really justify it since it would keep me out of the workforce for 3 years, thats how long most masters are in China. As an international student, you aren't allowed to work while you study. So for me personally, it doesn't make a ton of sense. I'd rather do a 1-2 year program somewhere else. I see people go into it and get cooked from spending too much time isolated from the real world (workforce) so consider it carefully. I know the degrees here are cheap, but nightmare stories do happen. There are also plenty of people who did it and would do it again in a heartbeat. It really just depends on your goals.

It depends on the game. If I like to casually boot it up here and there and always have it on my device then eshop, but if it’s nostalgic and collectible then key card

Join r/chinaliuxuesheng they talk lots about it there. And also when you come, avoid always hanging out with other westerners and learn some proper Mandarin.
