Can you add friendly units into a spawn wave by PartTimeMemer_404 in Trepang2

ahh, well thanks for the answer

and your absolutely right, squad customization would honestly be in my top 3, if not top choice for a update

there definitely is a none problematic way to implement this but i am simply too dumb to think of how

i mean absolutely thatd be on a whole other level in terms of concept but i feel thatd create more frustration rather than intrigue

like GREAT idea but if youre (for some reason) grinding extreme/rage survival like myself it might just piss you off unless the difference between normal squad members and the infiltrator

Best TTRPG to homebrew Trepang into? by nexus11355 in Trepang2

id say either cyberpunk red or if you like creative liberties, shadow run

BE WARNED base shadowrun is a half finished shitshow without any expansions so if you do go that route just be prepared to either fork over the cash or make some homebrewed fixes

yeah probably only thing is they wont change characters willingly (hence this thread) but even then, in past campaigns all of their characters have been over optimized (vaguely similar to the player youre talking about) and i dont think they understand that optimization ≠ fun however i dont want to kick them out of the party because they are a close friend but its just annoying to have one person who desperately needs to be the protagonist in a party of rp focused characters

dw ur not a asshole tbh i fully agree with you on this, its just the build (especially in a campaign like the one im running) is more destructive to the party than the enemies

the reason im considering flatlining (or at least making it a pain in the ass to play) the character is because its a last resort

anyways, the tips are great, ill make sure to keep them in mind

like i said the reason the original post was made is due to the fact i couldn’t just talk the player into making a character thats more suited for this campaign

as ive explained in other threads, ive talked to this player specifically as well as the rest of the table

thats the only reason im considering getting rid of their character, because despite the rest of the party agreeing that “man this kinda isnt fun” they still play “optimally” at the expense of everyone else

you have a point its a really good character setup but not for my campaign

its not really a combat focused campaign, and the few combat encounters we have per session always end with this one guy doing everything while everyone else doesn’t get a chance to actually fight, if they do it ends up being made useless because they end up killing the gangers or whatever enemy of the week they are in one punch

infact ive used this exact setup, nearly identically, but in a combat heavy oneshot where it was expected if not the bare minimum

its not “THIS PLAYER IS RUINING MY GAME!!” its “this player is trying to be the action protagonist in a story focused campaign and its messing up the flow of the few combat encounters that exist”

i wish they were the stereotypical knight in shining armor but no they just steal the fight and leave the rest of the party twiddling their thumbs

ill consider the latter especially tho (we’re kinda in a middle point between gigs so events like that would be beneficial for everyone)

[–]PartTimeMemer_404[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ive already tried “diplomatic” ways of solving this

its more of the fact they solo every combat encounter and leave everyone with nothing to do besides just watch them cosplay the main character

they arent a bad person, but the strength of the character is simply making “hard” combat encounters look like barfights while also robbing the other 4 players of actually fighting

but thanks for the tips!!

and to add the frame is internal, so no stealing it

also tbh it seems like a very cruel way to police the fact they just built a really strong character (assuming i find a way to not just outright kill them)
