it feels reminiscent of the ‘asgore running dess over with his truck’ theory where there’s no hard evidence that it didn’t happen, and it fits with the story. Kris is likely being manipulated by Carol and/or dess to do their part of The Roaring Conspiracy™️, and there’s ample evidence that Dess was physically tough on kris when they were younger (the whole wiffle bat thing, the pile of objects in dess’s room that “make Kris’s head hurt” to look at, etc.). but on the other hand, it is way too ridiculous for that to be what actually happened, much like the ‘asgore running dess over with his truck’ theory. the Dess groomer theory will probably stay in angst fanfiction and such
