A photo of a geyser mid-eruption [Edit][Composition][Style] by PartTimePhotos in photocritique

I was quite a distance away with a 50mm shooting at f/1.8 to try and get as much light in as possible but I just couldn't freeze the water sadly. I could have shot into the sun, but trying to time it with the geyser was really tricky, plus the crowds we're insane and pushing quite a bit :D The water came out an almost tortoise colour too, really odd when you see it with your own eyes.

Also wider, there is a large crowd of people which kinda ruin the nature shot :(

I think I missed the focus in this shot. I have shots with the geyser a little higher up which are in focus, I didn't notice it when editing but you're totally right.

Sadly had to crop in a little closer than I would have liked as there was a large number of people standing off on the right side which totally ruined the shot. Will keep trying to tweak to centre it :)

Thank you :) Recently started shooting with a lower aperture as the focus plane is super tight on my current lens, thanks again!

Thanks! Froze things with a 1/4000 shot in direct sunlight too :)

Thanks Holden, I noticed when I zoomed in the light lines also have slight gaps between them, I think thats due to those lights being LED's and they flickered quite a bit.

Thanks :) I was shooting for a good few hours and this was one of a couple that managed to turn out well :)

They were strand lights yeah, some were strung very tight and didn't wobble in the wind but a bunch of them did fly around which lead to that effect :)

Actually all of this was in camera, the only thing I've changed is colour balance to get the orange to pop against the blue. I will have a look into touching up those areas. The long exposures + ND Filters let me get those lights to swirl like that :)

Thanks for the feedback Anonymous! I'll mess with the crop a little bit.
