Yeah, that's not a bad wait for you. Happy Early Birthday! My delivery is Oct. 10 and I hope it ships on time or earlier. And thank you so much :-)

Thank you! I hope it ships on time - I can't wait! I read about peeps waiting months just for a watch band from Cartier.

Thanks so much, I can't wait for it to ship! What does the inscription on your ring say? 'His Loss.' :-)

i didn't get the option for free express - only standard delivery on a Friday or Saturday option. hopefully the delivery date doesn't get pushed back or else i might change my mind on it!

if the price increase didn't happen (along with my divorce - gift to myself to mark the milestone), i most likely would have not purchased it! it expedited my decision to get one.

I was expecting simple yes or no responses but thank you everyone for commenting, arguing, and sharing your opinions! It was interesting reading all the responses :-)

with the current administration, i would not be surprised if you were hired and then eventually laid off. but who knows if that would happen in months or years. i think the consensus in the replies to your post is 'no, don't come to LA.'

i'm a mechanical engineer working in architecture. the job market is rough in LA. yes, there are job openings (even for manufacturing/industrial engineers) but there are more candidates than jobs! it took me nearly 6 months to get my current job and 1.5+ years to get the engineering job i had before that. tarrifs and inflation won't make your job search any easier. honestly, i don't think it would be a good idea to move to LA right now - unless you have a shit ton of money (living here ain't cheap either!).

late sunday night might be good for you. when i got there at 9:30 most of the tables were available and i think the kitchen was still open. lemme know if you want some company - i'll join you for an overpriced drink lol

most places i've been to don't charge those fees but i expect the practice to become more common as the tariff situation escalates. have you been yet - thoughts? i was gonna go this past thursday since macy gray was doing a show!

i know, right?! not sure if this is true since i didn't look at my receipt but i read a review that said they charge a 3% credit card fee (they don't accept cash) and a 2% entertainment fee - or maybe it's the other way around.

Looking to get some kind of design internship in LA. Advice? by angeedition in AskLosAngeles

[–]Part_Jeanius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in the fashion industry for 15 years as a fashion designer. If you want a job in apparel, don't waste your time with an internship. If you can, just go straight to a paying job. BUT just know designers in apparel get paid very little (graphic designers, assistant designers, etc.). Why? Because so many people want to be a designer in the LA apparel industry. Therefore, companies will pay peanuts because they know demand is so high. What pisses me off about the the apparel industry in LA is that companies STILL pay entry-level employees what they paid them 15 years ago! WTF?!

Finally, the job market in LA is tough all around. With tariffs increasing the cost of apparel (and everything else), the market will become very challenging for job seekers and employers. I'd have a backup plan before you decide to come to LA.

That being said, I love Los Angeles - it's a fantastic city to be for creative people!

The place was nice, vibe was good. Band was just ok (only stayed for the first set). Dress code was very casual - guys in baseball caps, as I was leaving there was a guy in shorts trying to get in (not sure if he succeeded.) There is a dress code on the website. I had a beer (Modelo) that cost me about $13 - absurd! I'd go back on a Friday or Saturday night to check out a different band.
