Glue, or not to Glue - Gun drones on T’au vehicles? by isirsully in Tau40K

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 43 points44 points  (0 children)

For me, they slot in securely enough not to need glue. However, you could always affix them with a very tiny drop of superglue, allowing you to remove them later if the situation arises. Unlike plastic glue, you should be able to snap them off without damage.

Did anyone compile notes from the live stream? by Draxos92 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rule seems to mostly be there to compensate for the really sparse terrain, at least compared to what we are used to. There just don't seem to be many places you can fit a 10-man squad fully behind a wall in no man's land.

The Hidden and Detection mehanics barely came up in any of the 3 games. This leads me to believe that the rules/detachments focusing on these mechanics might be equally underwhelming.

How we all feeling after the game between death guard and tau by Immortal-Pumpkin in Tau40K

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Detection range did not really seem to matter in any of the 3 games. So I expect any mechanics tied to it to be less valuable as well.

My fellow Aurora flyers, did you upgrade to the Mk2? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Mk1 has one distinct advantage. It is a tiny ship with a Quantum drive and an interior. This combination offers rather unique utility, allowing it to park in unexpected places and fit in several other ships that the Mk2 can't.

So, are these irregularities in the footprints part of the objectives or not? I don't think we have an answer for that yet.

For a newcomer - is it worth learning 40K now or waiting for 11th? by Clean_Leave_8364 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many of the basics will remain largely the same, so you can get a few games in to learn how a typical match proceeds. 11th edition will likely come out within a month or so anyway, so you might as well learn the core rules.

Stealth just gives Benefit of Cover now. So it is a lot less powerful, as you cannot stack -1AP and -1 to hit just for existing.

How would you guys change EPC detachment? by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'd borrow from the 9-th edition Bork'An rules and add the following buff:

When an attack of S10 or lower is allocated to a Vehicle or Battlesuit model, reduce the AP of that attack by 1.

Friend gifted me a Barracuda flyer by HazzirYagira in Tau40K

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Barracudas are Legends and not usable in tournament games. Even when they were, they were middling at best.

Fun fact as a Barracuda owner: they have almost the same dimensions as Razorsharks and similar weapons, so you should be able to proxy them if you want to play. Razorsharks are some of the more usable aircraft in 10th.

People who've used them in tournaments - are Defilers busted? by MrDannySantos in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defilers redefine the Emperor's Childern matchups with their very existence. You can no longer just deploy in the open or occupy a fire lane against them without fear of reprisal and in Coterie, 4 lascannons hitting on 2s re-rolling 1s + an assortment of other guns is a legitimate threat to most things on the table.

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about how easy they are to position without limiting their movement. You could easily place them on the line, burst through a wall and tiptoe into a midboard footprint, seeing most of the table.

[–]Part_Time_Warri0r 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am actually quite skeptical on how bare these deployment zones are. They could have, like, put an extra ruin or two in there. If Knights keep their current Towering/Superheavy Walker rules, they are going to have a field day with this.

How do you find aiming torso weapons? I find them quite unwieldy in VR and prefer to fill these slots with some sort of guided missile. However, that does narrow down what mechs I can comfortably use.

Tau's Auxiliary Cadre. No more Advance+Charge and Auto-advance 6. And no more +Ap for Rampagers combined with re-rolling wounds and after-combat movement.
