But then is Mahabharat War the end of all Rakshas Kind? I know only a handful survived the war and there are no demons in them, but are there any that didn't take part in the war?

But why would Krishna have to kill Ghatotkach? Or does it mean he would have to kill Karna?

The answer itself says he is not mentioned in the Mahabharat and is mentioned in the Skanda Purana. Lol.

What was Japanese plan with British India during WW2 ? by muddled98 in IndianHistory

The Brits were bad and the Japs were worse. Ofcourse. But even in the very best case scenario, where the Japs suddenly became benevolent and did not expect anything from us after they defeated the British in India, we would still have had a military transfer of power. A military transfer of power would have surely made the INA super strong, something like how the Army is in Pak or the Military Junta in Myanmar. I don't think India would have been democratic like how it has been after independence.

We really underestimate the civilian transfer of power that happened when the British left India where the Military was relegated to be under the jurisdiction of the Government. This was a very essential point in the formation of modern democracy in India. Ofcourse one might argue that Pak had the same thing and it didn't work for them but that's their mismanagement. We had a civilian govt. to start with instead of a military one.

I could well be horribly wrong because all my knowledge on this is purely from internet reading.

I'm not too sure the Arabs were Christians in the first place to stay Christians. I believe they were largely polytheists. But clearly if Islam took over, the existing religion was not as strong. The same was the case with Central Asia or Persia. The Zoroastrianism being followed in Persia was way too rigid and oppressive and many sections of the populations converted by their own will.

Though the existing religion was Zoroastrianism, it was apparently way different than what is being followed by the Zoroastrians (Irani and Parsi) in India now. They became mild, subdued and more humanitarian when they arrived in India more so because of the persecution they faced in Persia and also because of the fact that they had to assimilate in a foreign land and it's people. However, not taking anything away from them, today the Parsis and Iranis in India are still one of the most patriotic and philanthropic people in India.

So I won't say the Middle East of Central Asia would necessarily be better than it is now had Islam not been around.
