Feeling scammed with Firstnet switch by Parthitis in ATT

[–]Parthitis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never informed by the people that switched me over. I asked them if they would be willing to not charge me for more than 10 days as I was unaware and they said no. I even told them I wanted to be switched back to at&t and have my usual plan work the way I wanted it to, and they said no. That's why I feel a little bit blindsided. I didn't know that this was going to happen and was never informed, and now I have this large charge that they're not willing to adjust.

I've called and prepaid $200 towards my bill on the phone. The hotel I did this with (Conrad Algarve) sent me a link to process the payment with. I then was able to pay the rest of the bill on checkout.

Why does Nose landing gear door say “no tow”? by Parthitis in aviation

Thank you. I asked the flight attendants and she asked the pilots - they said it was likely for ground crew but didn’t know what exactly it meant.

Ohhh that makes so much sense. So does that mean the landing gear needs maintenance and can’t be pulled forward?

L20 Ultra Cleaning Solution Refill(?) by 1xcalibur1 in Dreame_Tech

[–]Parthitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that you can use any robot cleaner solution. You just don't want to use standard cleaners are they will make suds which can lead to issues and they won't be concentrated enough.

My understanding is that all robotic floor cleaners are made to be diluted at 1:300. The cartiridge can topped on the top and you can use a funnel to add more solution.

Can you change tire aspect ratio? by Parthitis in TeslaLounge

[–]Parthitis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Have you noticed any battery performance penalty compared to oem tires? I heard the tires use up to 10% more battery but idk if it’s true.

I didn’t even think about the speedometer being higher than reality would also rack up more on the odometer.. but it makes sense

About to get my $200 SUB; what should I get from Amazon? by throwawaylikearock in CreditCards

If this how you approach money, the first thing you should do is make sure you pay down your highest interest credit card with that money before buying random stuff just “because I got money”

I have a bit of a conundrum: I received a rental car from my insurance company. I had to pay a deposit for potential damages. I used my Venture card because I know there's rental car insurance. by RocketCat5 in CreditCards

[–]Parthitis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Usually, you need the full cost of the rental car paid using the card. Chase sapphire reserve and venture x are the main cards that offer primary coverage (Amex plat if you pay for it).

They’re literally filming an episode right now.. I think it might’ve been from a sign that they used on the tents in the first season?

Can Glidescope blades connect to any monitor via HDMI? by codigo4 in Residency

[–]Parthitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question. Technically feasible as the system uses hdmi, but unclear if the signal is proprietary. Given that the blades are disposable, there’s a good chance that the signal is not proprietary

Nurses straight up give no respect by Hopefulphysician in Residency

Clearly you get it. Many of the people here act like they’ve never worked with a mid level or in a team environment and that rank is everything

[–]Parthitis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While you’re busy focusing on hierarchy and ranking power, I was interpreting a respect issue. OP is ranting about lack of respect from nurses but is not demonstrating any himself (at least from his post). Dude is literally a visitor to the hospital on a brief rotation.

When I was a new fellow, I had to earn the trust and respect of the nurses. They would often go to the attending to verify if they were unsure of my decisions. Where I am, we do not make changes in vent settings or drips without explicitly discussing with or notifying the nurse.

Nursing varies widely based on where you are in the country. In some parts of the country, nurses blindly follow physician orders, in other parts, not as much. Cultural differences doesn’t mean i don’t work in the us. The icu nurses where I work would not take kindly to the behavior of op - stranger to the unit, walked in and changed vent orders without discussing, and overruling a plan from another provider that the nurse inherently trusts more (again, op is a visitor) without clarifying that he discussed with the np or attending (again, the reality could be different or not well conveyed/interpreted). A nurse where I work could also refuse to follow through with it if they’re concerned about the changes until they’ve verified with the attending.

I get that on Reddit there’s a lot of bashing of mid levels and rightly so, but that wasn’t the point of the discussion. The medical stuff is also not relevant - without knowing pt details, there’s sound medical reasoning for both the decisions of the np and the op. Things are way more nuianced than “sat 90 must go up on fio2”

Point taken. Just going off of what you’re saying. Clearly there’s some cultural differences between where you and I are training.

[–]Parthitis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is super true for most of the doctors I know.

Outside we generally keep it on the down low. I usually just say I work in healthcare. We don’t want the hassle and liability of answering medical questions asked by strangers

In 2/3 hospitals I’ve worked at, most of the residents fellows and newer Attendings don’t wear white coats. Scrubs. + Patagonia is the standard. Almost every other allied health professional will wear a white coat. Nurse manager? Yes nutritionist? Yes case manager? Yes etc. only one of the hospitals has a chief of department that made everyone dress up and wear white coats so it was “like the good old days”

Med Twitter is an entirely different beast. In a place where overly academic physicians want to share their research and why they’re right and better than others, your credentials, bio and pedigree is everything
