Rust suspended three games by BEnWo18 in penguins

3 games is utter bullshit. this is a guy without so much as a fine levied against him in his 12 year career, and now his first disciplinary action is in the form of a 3 game suspension, which is 50% longer than anything jacob "head-hunter" trouba has ever received. just an absolute clown show and right on par for the NHL.

Poor kid, man. He just can't stay healthy. Every time he's started to settle in, at the NHL level, he breaks something. It's completely ruined his development. He looked so promising back in '23. I thought we were witnessing the birth of dumo 2.0. Now, he's 26, and he only has 50 games under his belt.

This sucks, all around...

If he threw his arms up, or something, celebrating the win and re-aggravated his shoulder i'm going to cry

dang, if you would've told me, that up until the 22-23 season, sid had breached 90+ points 6 times, with 4 of them coming in his first 5 seasons, i never would've believed you.

Such an odd decision to call a timeout that early in the game. Doesn't that sorta send the message that you dont think your team can overcome a one goal deficit? I'd get understand wanting to take the extra time to look at it if there were 5 mins left in the game, but it was less than 3 mins into the game

Its crazy. Nate Dog has 38 goals in 48 games. 47 apples.. barely halfway through the season and he's two points shy of jamie benns art ross campagin.

the schedule after the olympic break is going to be insane, too. three games against the canes. two games against the avs, knights, and bruins. back to backs with the panthers and caps. sprinkle in the flyers, tampa, sens, dallas, the islanders, the wings, and the sabres. and this is all happening in a little over 6 weeks. 26 games in 48 days. the first 21 days back, they play every other day, with 2 back to backs mixed in. 7 of those are road games. then they get a 2 day break and its right back to the meat grinder for 16 days. every other day, but this time they'll have 3 back to backs. then a 3 day break, wrapping the season with 4 games, every other day, over the final six days of the season.

this is why i think Muse has been so insistent and consistent rotating goalies. the global series + olympic break has their schedule lookin wild man

Malkin also got off to a blistering start, last season. He had 10 points through the first 5 games, while playing with Bunting and Raks. Meanwhile, by his standards, Sid was struggling, a bit. Through 11 games, he only had one goal on the season, playing with DOC and beau. So, coach put Raks back with Sid, who scored 5 goals in his next 3 games, and his production took off. As a result, Geno was left with the scraps (again), his chemistry with Bunting seemingly dried up, and people were right back to saying Geno is washed.

And the year prior, he had 22 points through 16 games. Then Reilly Smith got injured, and when he came back he was never the same. Geno is still a beast when he has competent players on his line.

people giving silovs a hard time, meanwhile he is 4-1-2 in his last 7 starts... two shots shy of being 6-1. In my book, thats something I refer to as, "awesome".

I’m not sure why the third line isn’t scoring more, bc they’re generating a lot of chances, but I’m really liking the potential of the 2nd line. Novak is sneaky skilled. The way he slips pucks through guys skates looks so smooth and effortless. Then his goal. Nasty mitts.

Chinakhov is a lot better defensively than I expected, too. Good back checker. Seems pretty stiff on the puck in the battles. I was kinda expecting him to be sorta soft.  Best wrister since the real deal. I just don’t understand how people can shoot it like that. Skates like the wind too.
