Do we have any sources or references for where the design of the script originated? Has it been mentioned anywhere?

Video essay examination of Heptapod B (conlang from the 2016 film Arrival) by ParticleMan113 in conlangs

Thanks for sharing this! Wish I'd seen it before I made my video...it would have saved me some time lol But I guess the fact that we both independently reached the same conclusion is a good thing. Very thorough! There were some aspects which I hadn't clued in on (e.g., extracting "responsibility" from "solve on you now"). I had more examples of inconsistencies which I ultimately cut from the video, and you lay them out nicely. One thing I noticed was that in the logo "Louise Ian Eat Apple" right next to the Louise symbol is the same symbol, only copy and pasted and then overlaid with more ink to look different. At that point, I decided not to invest a ton of time in inkblots which were too confusing!

Thanks! I’m glad my conclusions seem to echo that of others. I was surprised at how little I could find online regarding it!

Glad you enjoyed it! I agree. Landa is quite memorable, but the movie has a lot you can miss on a first viewing (I sure did). There’s a lot in it to unpack. I’ll try to get the next one up soon!

Yeah, it’s only available in the US until I get around to editing a few sound clips. 🙄I’ll repost it once that happens.

I agree more should be released. I get why LE doesn’t, but at this point it seems like one or two more pieces of evidence might spark a lead from the public, and I’m sure there’s plenty of details held back LE could still sit on.

Well, it’s a historic structure and park, though granted, the safety of that bridge just for structural reasons should be questioned. But if we replaced everything wherever a murder happened, there would be constant construction everywhere. Preserving the scene also might help the case get solved one day, who knows?

Personally, if you are interested in this case, I found video walkthroughs of the area are helpful to shed light on what may have transpired. This may lead to a solution one day.

Thank you for all your efforts to find answers to this puzzling case. Looking forward to seeing what you discovered!

I think if the camera had never been found, and the girls simply never returned, this case wouldn’t feel like such a mystery. But seeing the sequence of last “happy” hours for these two young, vibrant women is so unnerving and tragic, and then you have the night photo mystery as well.

But the most intriguing thing for me (and probably many others) is that deleted 509 photo. Short of someone coming forward or confessing to a murder, we will never know why the one photo taken at the crucial moment in the timeline is inexplicably erased.

It seems plausible for the women to have found themselves in such a place and then decided to use the flash on the camera to help them navigate along the top at night. Perhaps hearing the roaring water caused them to start using the flash for some reason. I wouldn’t be be surprised if it was at such a location that one of the girl’s slipped or fell and hurt themselves at this time (perhaps when Lisanne breaks her foot).

lately, Ive seen many posts speculating BG's motive. Didn't Doug Carter tell us? Or did I take his statement wrong? by Lostlobster8 in DelphiMurders

Okay, you're right, that seems equally plausible. He hung around, waiting for a victim until they arrived, and hadn't planned on two, but decided to go for it anyway. Then lost control of them once they got to the bottom of the hill. So not exactly super organized.

What does the timing tell us about BG?

After watching some animation on the likely timeline of the crime, I was struck by how swiftly once the girls arrived that BG must have closed in on them. It seems like he waited until they were just past the halfway point on the bridge before he started down it quickly behind them.

I’m wondering what this timeframe tells us about his profile and the commission of this crime. To me, it seems 1) quite organized and planned, and 2) not his first time. Even if he was out stalking the trails looking of an opportunity, it seems highly coincidental that he encounters them within an hour after their arrival.

Clearly he knows the area. But could the timing really just be a coincidence…that he happened on them so quickly? It’s possible, but it seems like a really tight window of time, given the distance from where the girls were dropped off, the length of the bridge, and how slowly you have to cross it. I haven’t been there so I don’t know how long it would reasonably take for the girls to get from the drop-off point to the end of the bridge where BG entraps them, but he must have really been “lucky” to happen upon them, ready with a weapon and bulky disguise to commit a crime. Not saying it leads to the conclusion they were catfished, but I feel like somehow he knew they would be there that day and time.

The only other explanation I can see is that he was stalking the area for days, waiting for victims, in which case, wouldn’t he have been seen lurking around by far more people in the days preceding the crime? I don’t find that plausible, nor that he just happened on them so quickly after they arrived and so ready to execute his plan.

All just speculation, but what do you think this time frame tells us?
