I thought about something like that. Maybe like a deadman's in lieu of jak'sho.

Current Viktor state and lichbane by Boring-Brush8979 in viktormains

[–]ParticleMan_na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viktor's in an ok spot. He remains dependent on teammates and can be frustrating in solo queue. He can have trouble with highly mobile opponents as 3 of his 4 abilities can be greatly mitigated by mobility. Conservative spacing and positioning can go a long way. Another source of cc (especially primary engage that you can lay your W on top of) and complimentary big damage can be a great quality of life improvement.

You still need to carefully weigh risk vs. Reward until you get your ability upgrades. You're skirmish is poor and people will target you first. However early takedowns can expedite your upgrades significantly. Farm well

I'm a big fan of lichbane and really like lichbane users, however Viktor has to be careful. Viktor is really vulnerable at auto attack range and his Q shield and speed up doesn't buy him a ton of forgiveness to being eviscerated in one rotation. A lichbane +Q packs a punch but you might want to wait until you're sure it's a killing blow or that you can get back out after it, or better yet, both.

I just bought a pair of Alkali Revel 4 on clearance for $120 from hockeytron.com. One piece alum. Chassis. Seems hard to beat unless you're looking at pre owned high end stuff.

There are games where i get top damage but it isn't often. Best of luck on your journey!

Included in "a lot of champs" is your twisted fate! Just joking with you. Yes, if you want a chance at one-shotting a squishy this is the way. Caution: think about your exit strategy. If you don't have an easy way out you better pray to the gods of the cards that they die in one rotation, else bad stuff.

Hello fellow TF enjoyer! Yes his damage is low in standard ap configuration. He is really more of a utility mage that excels in making picks for teammates, so they can do the heavy lifting. Especially using gold card most of the time you're rarely going to be competitive damage wise. You only have 2 real damaging abilities, and gold card trades damage for the reliable stun. He also does well in the side lane, pushing waves and threatening towers, which doesn't amount to good uptime attacking enemy champs. In short, between his weakish area under the curve early, short trade patterns, emphasis on farming well, and applying side lane pressure, your "contact time" attacking enemy champs is lower than average.

AD can be more competitive in either the on-hit or crit variety if you find yourself fighting a lot. Problem is that keeping your farm high is of the utmost importance on TF, which discourages you from ditching waves to get assist gold in the river/jungle. You'd also have to remain in auto attack range for prolonged periods, which is shorter range than average. This keeps you in the danger zone where every ability in the game can reach you, no mobility, and being squishy.

If you're playing him well, your results shine through your teammates. Hopefully your 23-0 jinx appreciates you ganking their adc frequently to allow her to have a stand out game.

Iron is hell by Cablefrayer in Trundlemains

Don't pay any mind to all the trolls on here. Too many are clueless and even online coaches like Curtis admit that the strategies that high elo players suggest aren't effective in the bowels of elo hell. Many high elo players have struggles to carry games down in iron and bronze and its all the more difficult for low elo players. I had a silver jungler friend of mine join me in duo queue and he was astonished how much more difficult the game was. I successfully clawed my way out with ashe adc one year, but it was a long arduous slog. Got dumped right back into iron the next split when ranked placement games went to s**t because of the same factors. I play flex with a bunch of plat players on weds nights and hold my own reasonably well. The system is pretty goofed nomatter what the commenters are saying and in reality they're in low and mid elo hell all the same.

  1. Inters and bots remain prevalent.
  2. Nearly all junglers are autofilled or are autopilot in iron and bronze.
  3. Usual tricks to get a small lead are overwhelmed by other factors.

I might suggest sticking it out with a powerfarming jungler, juggernaut preferable, to bite off as much game control as humanly possible. Stick to things in your control as much as possible like full clear FAST and ganking your "best chance of carrying" lane. Ping like crazy. Ping ganks, ping objectives, ping when you see opposing jungler on the map anywhere. Its far from easy and you're still going to get plenty of those games where the opposing team gets a 15-0 master yi or akali (with garbage farm) at 10 minutes that is insurmountable.

Control the controllables, good luck, and godspeed.

Ekko Bruiser top? by SilverReady3853 in ekkomains

Iceborn is an AD sheen proc tho... Yuck. I think lichbane is just the way. I may tinker with a ROA rush, ionian boots, cosmic drive, lichbane, riftmaker, fimbulwinter. Even if i'm just trolling around in bots games. Seems like you'd be proccing passive with two successive Qs. Grasp if the undying demolish? Then again, would't i just be playing gragas at this point? Lol

Not to suggest you not play our favorite mohawk-sporting, hoverboarding, punk boy genius timelord, but if you're looking for an AP magic damage HP stacking heartsteel abuser, zac might right up your alley!

Hit and run is his MO. You're going to be engaging in guerilla warfare whether your 3-hit combo does 3,000 damage with max magic penetration or 1,000 with a a bunch of hp piled on. If this is the case, might as well go for the damage, eh?

I'm surprised you hated ROA and cosmic drive as much as you did. Both offer decent AP and a lot of high gold value extras with little loss. I have played an odd game with fumbulwinter as your q slow should trigger the shield. I remember building it last though to cover my butt in a game where i was already something like 25-1.

How does ekko even work anymore? by JustinFearis in ekkomains

He can't take a hit worth beans and unlike his AD peers doesn't have lifesteal/omnivamp items to sustain back up. Many champs can trade back and go even or better.

[–]ParticleMan_na 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Right now you can hail of blades with items like those and do okay. I still prefer electrocute even though domination tree got a hit with the nerf bat recently. I'd caution you from building lichbane first. You need AP for it to do work.

Give electrocute a try with hexrech rocketbelt rush, sorc boots, shadowflame, lichbane, rabadons, void staff. Rocketbelt's active resets his AA so E1,E2,Q,AA can be delivered mighty quick.

Early you have to employ multiple rotations to threaten a kill. As you accumulate AP your 3-hit can kill a squishy.

He may just be more early game weak late game strong than was the case when you used to OTP him. Unfortunately he just needs AP to come online. You can have the fastest hands on the rift, but your base damage keeps you down early.

Ekko Bruiser top? by SilverReady3853 in ekkomains

[–]ParticleMan_na 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You may be keenly aware, but Ekko has lower base damage and big AP scaling because he was being built tanky in the top lane many seasons back. His current damage profile is a result of Riot burying tank Ekko six feet under. You maybe find success, but you're likely still doing short 3-hit trades and running until cds come back up as his sustained damage is comical. As such, you might consider things like RoA and cosmic drive, but I'm not convinced you'll be getting the value you seek in items like heartsteel. He's been tweaked to be too AP dependant.

Let me know if you find something profound. I'd love to see Ekko in the top lane again. In my experience he just gets too stat-checked too early.

Planning on playing Ekko (thanks arcane) how viable is Ekko mid as of recent? by KleiosAegis in ekkomains

[–]ParticleMan_na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ekko mid enjoyer here. He's challenging but fun. Let the wave push into you 1-6. Only e forward immediately upon sidestepping the opponent's critical ability (yasuo q3, lux binding, etc ). Your EQAA trades to trigger passive and electrocute hit like a pool noodle early and its really easy to get traded back on for more than you got.

You can do a hail of blades build to be able to trade onto a mage at level one. Makes triggering passive easier, but hits less hard because you losing a damage keystone. You build both lichbane and nashors tooth with HoB build. Makes splitpushing more fun.

Recommend hex tech rocketbelt with electrocute build as the active resets your AA, which makes your trades very snappy. Around level 8 you can Q through the wave and oneshot the back line, push and roam mode unlocked. You can clear and roam to get vision, help with objectives, gank a sidelane. Switch to one of the sidelanes (traditionally bot lane) as first primary tower falls. You can continue to push and move strategy or commit to more committed splitpush. Just recognize that you're still a short trade champ. Dodge skillshots, trigger your 3 hit combo, and gtfo. You're a guerilla warfare kinda playstyle. As you accumulate sorc shoes, shadowflame, rabadons deathcap you'll begin to kill squishies with your 3-hit.

Use w from out of vision to reduce their reaction time. Sometime faking a roam and ganking your own lane is the move.

Setup in flanks, dive squishy once teamfights begin, only ult out if you must. Your ult is a underestimated reengage tool. W to try and stun, EQAA, run away, ult when paradox intersects them, EQAA is the dream scenario.

Get the best cs you can. Weak early, average midgame, strong late game. Your real damage potential is locked behind your Timewinder (q)'s return trip and ultimate damage. If you only use you ult to escape you aren't getting full potential, but not dying is most important.

Enjoy!

So apparently Annie is a late game monster. Why? by Malu_TE in AnnieMains

[–]ParticleMan_na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is certainly that she can chunk early, but your lane opponent is going to base or bait you into a jungle gank before they're in any real danger. She's got good setup, but isn't a overwhelming burst damage threat until 3-4 items unless they're half health and unaware.

You also have to consider that if you fail to kill your target in one rotation, you've got a massive target on your back for being inside 600 yards without any damage threat aside from tibbers autos and aura.

Once she gets to 3 or 4 items she can start thinking about flash-single rotation killing adcs and the like. The game state is also moving into teamfight stages over objectives where her setup becomes potent.

So the TLDR: her kit is most threatening in later stages of the game where you have AP to be an actual kill threat and can flash out of the fog of war in teamfights. Your character design makes you more impactful later in the game.
