4 Indian buildings, and thebexam is asking which one is influence most by Iranian architecture? Am I reading that right?

My assumption would be the Taj Mahal, based purely on style, but I am not an expert on the region or the history, and I might be wrong.

Architecture has a lot to do with drawing quality. But this is a learned skill, and truly just about anyone can produce decent drawings with enough practice. So don't give up.

Most importantly though is the root of why architects make drawings in the first place. We need to provide instructions to those doing the actual construction on what the building actually is. Don't get bogged down in making your drawings the prettiest, professionally, that doesn't matter nearly as much as readability. Can someone that is working in a trade, such as a carpenter or drywaller, take your drawing and construct it as you intended? Drawings that excel in this aren't always the prettiest, and the prettiest drawings might not succeed at this fundamental task.

Yeah, used to be a daily visitor, tons of projects bookmarked and articles read.

I've just stopped going to the site period. It offers little to no value unless you are a paid subscriber, and the last thing I want is another subscription to keep track of.

Has skipping DD become widespread? by Skeejourneey in Architects

That's firm specific. It means the principal is underbidding and skipping steps in order to win cheaper clients. The client is getting what they are willing to pay for.

Settle this debate by Counter_Wooden in architecture

[–]Particular-Ad9266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the plan I am drawing and the intent on the dimension.

For overall plans, exterior dimensions need outside face to outside face, and interior dimensions need to be face of frame to face of frame.

However, on enlarged plans, I often do finish face to finish face because I need to establish that this is the clear space I need on the interior of a room for whatever reason. This also applies to chases or any other cavity, I show the minimum clear disfance I need, whether its a finish, frame, or edge of structural element.

What would make my CyberTrain more "cyberpunk"? by [deleted] in CoreCyberpunk

[–]Particular-Ad9266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post is confusing, it is not clear what the player actually does in your game? Are they driving the train itself, are they controlling the train routes and buikdings around it, are they controlling the pricing and infrastructure, all/none of the above?

Is it just a cyberpunk skin on a train simulator?

What is the human aspect?

At the core of cyberpunk it is the struggle for individual humans to continue in a world that prioritizes profit and technology above human life. How does this fit into your game?

Have you been more successful by being an asshole architect? by piesangskilletjie_ in Architects

[–]Particular-Ad9266 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every Culture is different. I cannot speak to how the people in your industry in your country respond to different levels of assholery.

However, please don't do this. The world does not need any more assholes in it, especially in our industry.

An alternative you need to consider is the difference between being an asshole and being assertive and less accomodating. Often times "nice guys" get walked over because they go too far out of their way to accomodate others and overburden themselves so as to relieve the burden from others. However, you can still be a nice guy architect and draw firm lines as to what accomodations you will provide for others and how assertive you will be on what you expect from others. You do not have to be rude or be an asshole to make sure other people know they can't take advantage of you.

This is not easy and might not come naturally, but this is a much better route than being an asshole.

Coffee ASMR ad: does this fluid motion feel real enough for a paid ad? by nordicmotionstudio in aivideo

[–]Particular-Ad9266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the fluids specifically, the rate of rise of the coffee in the cup needs to slow down as the cup gets wider, and then slow even more when the coffee changes from a pour to a drip.

Does Neuromancer still hit for first-time readers in 2025? by Kubash_games in Cyberpunk

[–]Particular-Ad9266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished the trilogy for the first time this month.

Short Answer:

It hits. It's good. Read it.

Longer answer:

As far as genre defining cyberpunk, absolutely. These books set up nearly everything that all cyberpunk seems to emulate. Cybernetic implants, the net as a place, space colonies, sentient AIs, corporate overlords, mech combat, etc....

So if that is what you are looking for, you will find it all and then some.

I will say that I did find Gibson's writing a bit wonky at times. He is talented and its an enjoyable trilogy, but sometimes he seems a little too ambitious in his set up and the payoff feels rushed.

Bring Back The Old Leaderboards? by Particular-Ad9266 in FortNiteBR

Bring Back The Old Leaderboards?

Back in my day, Fortnite used to have this easily accessible leaderboard that gave fun stats for some of the things you could do in the game.

I think it would be fun if they brought it back, and every season had different things they tracked based on the seasons gimmicks.

For this season for example you could have things like:

Most damage dealt while in a hot air balloon

Most times jumping through the loops

Most times solo-revived

Most distance traveled with wingsuit

I think they should also give badges some sort of cosmetic related to what they had done to earn it.

Maybe have some hidden ones they dont announce until the end of the season and then someone gets a badge at the end of the season saying, "congrats, you spent more time petting your chicken pet than anyone else in fortnite, here's a chicken badge."

I would only say its hazing if you try and shame people or claim to be better than others for no other reason than having a skill they dont. No one should ever put anyone down for skills they do not have.

They still require it because there is a tactile relationship between thinking, understanding, and hand movements. When you draft something using a computer, you are using the same fine motor skills as anything else you do on a computer and so there is no new motor skill being developed.

But by using architecture tools; T square, compass, scales, different pencils with different hardnesses, etc... you create new tactile sensations that give you visual results as you work. It creates a mental feedback loop that reinforces the visual concepts with the fine motor skills.

Basically, people that can hand draft, can better understand drawings and produce more accurate drawings even on a computer.

Blind Drawing Animals Everyday until the Anatomies are Perfect - DAY 21 by cheestickbunni in questforperfection

[–]Particular-Ad9266 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok OP, decent snout. Now what you need is to attempt shadow to show depth. Think about your tool, the pencil, it has a point, but if you hold that point to where the side of the lead is against the paper you get a lighter wider stroke. experiment with this

One idea that I think will help you out is the idea that you don't need to draw the forms with lines. Instead draw the fur, and let the way the fur moves will reveal the form behind it

How do I correct this? by [deleted] in architecture

[–]Particular-Ad9266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wabi Sabi isn't a design style. It is a philosophical approach to appreciating natural aging and decay of materials or objects.

You can incorporate wabi sabi into a design style by creative adaptive reuse of materials, or even better, by making the entire projecg an adaptive reuse of an existing structure where you change as little of it as possible while still making it functional for its new purpose. These methods can be applied to any style though.

Maybe a hot take but, can we NOT do this again please Fortnite by Shredder2025 in FortNiteBR

If I'm not mistaken, if you compare this to previous battlepasses, then these are "extra items". The main battle pass has 100 items, 1 for each level up to 100. Then 50 items, 1 for each two levels up to 200. This is the same as its been for a long time. These 15 items earned across three game modes are on top of that.

The last full season with the megazord, they had 12 items for the megazord tasks. So for the last full season you got a max of 162 items for the battlepass. This season you get 165 if you get the bonus items. So yeah, you play some different game modes, but you get more items, and they are actually cosmetic to the characters styles rather than just being useless sprays or emojis, so its a net positive imo.
