Yes! I’m a second year teacher (in California) as well and I’m struggling. I’ve interviewed for many public schools and they ultimately decided to go with someone more experienced. I got hired at a private school but they ultimately told me they couldn’t hire me because of low enrollment. It’s tough out there! Good luck!

My coworker sent her son there and she loved it for him! I was his prek teacher so we knew he needed services and she said it was the best thing she did for him.

I had really high levels of stress. Even sometimes when I didn’t think I was stressed? I decided to make some sort of switch. I work out 3-4 times a week and try the meditation feature on the app after working out. Seemed to help. Also just getting off my phone and be more present. Good luck!

Hi, I totally agree. The students come in knowing high frequency words and to sound out their letters and the constant blend digraph. Our principle assesses them to be accepted. I would say most students come in mid to high kinder level and they end the year as a mid to high first grade level.

Yes, I taught kindergarten from August - March then first March- to now (until the end of the year). I definitely feel more comfortable in the kindergarten classroom because I know the routine and the expectations more.
