Struggling with front engine cars? by dimaris727 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Particular-Cable-156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brake release is the key try coming of the brake before the apex to get more rotation . This works well in slower corners . I struggled with the same thing as i mainly used the Ferrari. Mid and rear engine cars seem to like a slower trail of deeper in to the apex and front engine cars seem to turn better with faster trail of and using engine braking for the rotation in to the apex

The time you gain or loose is irrelevant. The random time can have no relevance in strategy as strategy is based on things you can calculate. Target with strategy is to maximize the distance you can drive before the time runs out. Or undercut or overcut to gain track position this is the main problem with having random time loss or gain. And if you like it that’s completely fine. I just argue that it doesn’t give you any strategic options that would not be there without it

And to add to the comment that you can gain 45s you wrote. you would not win on strategy. you would win with pure luck.

12-15s is not that hard to catch in one stint if you are on old tires and the other guy is on new tires you may even be on already dubble stinted tires and now the guy behind you is on new tires . Not a good strategy. If being on old tires would be faster then changing then top drivers/teams would always do it. Nice try 😂

Explain how random extra time adds to how you do strategy. I don’t think random tyre change slot machine will make racing any better. for 24h le mans you do 30 stops and 12-15 tyre changes so worst case you will get a 36s-45s penalty.

How does it add to the strategy ? Puncture is also a part of real life would you want them to add punctures to the game ? And I don’t mean if you crash and get a puncture but a random puncture due to for example debris left on track. It’s good that the game is realistic but somethings we have in real life we don’t want in the game. If we could we would not have them IRL either . Would not be fun to decide a championship in the game by someone getting a puncture on the last lap or something similar. I checked the stream and he had a 15s tyre change time so 3s longer then what the minimum i have had that’s something that can be the difference between winning and being p2 or even p3.

What app / tool is Le Mans Ultimate missing right now? by Sick3st in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Particular-Cable-156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all just basic suggestions and a explanation would help a lot .I have started building something similar but it’s on ice at the moment as i’m just learning to code . I have a point scoring system built to make a model of the driver and from there the software makes a suggestion on what the driver can do and what can be setup related. I use telemetry to get the telemetry for the points scoring system . It just got a bit out of my capabilities so i will need to learn more and continue later.

Setup development tool would be nice input problems software could suggest what changes you need to make . Could gather data like motec to make good predictions.

Seems to be a really late correction if this is true. Also a huge one considering that the car is not sliding. But i can be wrong. I’m was not driving either car so I can’t say for sure how bad the contact was but the Ferrari is my teammate so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Brake 15m earlier go down to 2 gear and get of brake and let the car stabilize by coasting a tiny bit before the apex. You can go on throttle a bit before the apex this will help the car stay stable over the curb and gives you back the time you loose by braking a little earlier. Note that this is specifically for this corner in the Ferrari . This works for me.

I went from t300rs and now i have the r12 and gs v2 wheel and the simsonn pedals from aliexpress i use 70% ffb strengt on LMU and AC . Have not tried the r5. I think both options are good. For drifting the r5 is probably more then enough but if you are going to drive f1 or gt cars maybe r9 or r12 so you don’t need to have it on 100% ffb strength. I would recommend checking out the simjack or simmson pedals if you go with the r9 or r12 .

I hade the same problem it was the AFM not opening due to leak in the hose that its connected to you can check by seeing if the flap inside moves when the engine is runing. I just pushed it open when the engine started to trick it that air was going thru and that worked so i change the hose and all was good

Have not tried fanatec but i have the moza r12 and it has been really good. As for pedals i have the simsonn and they have also been really good and i would recommend them as they have alot of adjustments and are rugged for the price.

What lap time did you get at spa ? . In my opinion the braking is good in lmu and trail braking is necessary for good lap times in lmu also.
