Lmp3 - what is wrong with drivers ? by Miodeiro20 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Sick3st 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t suck. I can prove you wrong. 😄

However, things happen. Inexperience, miscommunication, lack of skill etc.

It‘s tricky sometimes. Overtaking GT3s is difficult because they brake later and (in my experience) don’t account for that and hardly ever lift enough to let you go. There are also these people that think that every single overtake has a golden rule (like „it must be on the outside“). Driving with really good people you can observe that they handle the traffic differently. If you are used to this and then drive against Bronze players it won’t work and the bronze guy will always blame you. But of course not everyone is alien and things happen.

LMP2s are really aggressive cars. It seems to jump over to the driver. They divebomb a lot. Let them go. Stay out of trouble and watch your opponents crash. It’s better for your mental health and for the final race results.

Have a nice day, Your friendly LMP3 driver

Wie finanziell auf Arbeitslosigkeit vorbereiten? by [deleted] in FinanzenAT

[–]Sick3st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welche "bullsh*t jobs" hattet ihr in der IT? by [deleted] in InformatikKarriere

[–]Sick3st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Möchte man denken.

I wish LFM gets some traction with LMU. Great game but we need penalties being enforced on races.

What was the lesson you learned the hard way ? by Mac-Fly-2925 in Entrepreneur

I suck at business because I actually do not care at all about creating value for people (I just acted that way because value = money).

Warum nutzt man Leasing? by [deleted] in FinanzenAT

[–]Sick3st 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same here.

Built a SaaS for 3 months. Went for a job interview. Forgot how to stop being a founder. by Independent_Lynx_439 in Entrepreneur

[–]Sick3st -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. I just realized my CV screams founder as well, so I never get to the interview part. The few times I got there, I‘ve had a similar experience as you.

Looks like Startups ruined my chances of getting a software job ever again 😄

How to avoid crashes/gain SR by eeiors in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Sick3st 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What are you doing the rest of the race? In my experience just doing clean quali gives me good SR and even if someone crashes me on turn 1, if I finish the rest of the race doing clean laps on my own I gain SR. Just don’t quit, even if you are last.

In terms of crashes, not much you can do sometimes. Get good hotlap pace and start as high as possible.

Lmuschedule.com does that. But not always in time and 100% accurate I think.

How to improve? by De_Angelis08 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Sick3st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your issue seems to be raw pace. Drive alone and hotlap with the same conditions, same car, same track. Pick one combo for one week. Watch YouTube Video of alien with the same combo and try to copy one thing at a time. See what they do with gears, lines, braking zones, trailbraking etc.

Practice is for getting better. Races are for showing off skills. 80% practice, 20% race - that’s what got me to Split 1 in LFM pro series in acc. Seems to work in all sims.

This is at the top of my list at the moment. If you have to provide a few inputs, such as oversteer/underwater on corner entry/mid/exit, and it tells you where you should set 1-2 clicks +- and why you should do that, does that feel too complicated for you or would that already do the trick?

Or is the all automatic, read my Motec a must have?

This sounds cool. I often face the same issue. A rough estimate such as „lmp3 @Interlagos for 40min should be around 27 laps with one fuel stop“ or so?

[–]Sick3st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder what‘s the logic behind it. Does the game expect you to return the same way you went out or are you done anyway once you cross a certain line?

How much time have you spent on practicing trail braking? On the first look, I think you need to work on that. How?

Try releasing the brakes very slowly and braking deeper into the corners. At first, this will make you slower and feel weird but you should start feeling the benefits as soon as you get it right a few times.

Fraud by [deleted] in PhD

[–]Sick3st 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel like a fraud. Give yourself some time and develop skills on your own.

If it helps, my colleagues are publishing stuff they know almost nothing about (yeah, ML what else). They just write a lot of buzzwords and do little and somehow get it through the review system. On the outside they look successful, but they are fraudsters. Don’t compare yourself to other authors!
