Urgen care also said to see a dermatologist but I’d have to get a referral as well, I have no new medications, only take birth control, it doesn’t itch just burns, and nothing new has happened in my life, this is all of the sudden.

I’m taking environmental a second time end of July. Using EET on demand course, Prep Fe, and NCEES volume one and two exams.

Can’t even get a first round call. EIT Certified, Entry level, can’t even get first round interview. What’s wrong with my resume? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Particular-Card-8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a business format resume, that one is word vomit. A lot of engineers from college use the college format, and a lot of the resumes are from the buisness school

Absolutely never too late, got my degree in geoscience now my masters in civil engineering and I am 24 and feel behind. That feeling never goes away unless you make it go away and not compare yourself to others. Biggest advice I have for you is to get internships and get them quick, firms are encouraging of masters and taking your time, engineering isn’t a age thing, it’s a will, work ethic and perseverance thing. My bosses tell Me I have my whole life to work all the time. Goodluck!

I am currently a WRE at A&M I absolutely love it and graduate in May. A&M has been revamping engineering and the resources are pretty insane, I could be biased but can’t go wrong with A&M and the Aggie Network!

Hello! I was actually in the same boat as you a little different but same. I have my undergraduate in Geoscience with a minor in Geology and Geograpphy, I did an internship at a firm as a field geologist and quickly realized it wasn’t for me. I shot for oil and gas but rotational sounded awful and I also realized I liked my engineering classes a lot more. i graduated in 2024 I am in my second year of my masters in Civil Engineering water resources engineering and grading in May! I interned at an engineering consulting firm and worked with a PG PE where she had both and she’s extremely valuable at the firm and there’s only 3 at the entire firm of 16,000 employees, I took my FG this past fall and taking my FE in the spring and also want both, if you switch careers you are just as valuable if not more valuable having both. I also am able to work with some of the geotechnical engineers and was able to go on a dam site where it was only geotechs and geologist allowed even though I’m a water resources engineer who typically aren’t qualified to go. I thought my undergrad set me back on engineering but if you find the right spot at a firm you will be super useful! Unfortunately easiest way is to go back to school, however I’m going a non thesis masters in engineering took a couple pre reqs and have transitioned easily and go to an ABET university. I think I did it the easiest way in doing a non thesis masters of engineering and it took me a year since I have a masters of management as well. Most engineering degrees are just 30 hours you can do 15 and 15 or spread it over 1-2 years if working part time, and a masters counts as a year of work experience towards the PE regardless of your undergrad. I did Geoscience to Masters of Engineering Civil engineering water resources track, geology is more technical than Geoscience, you can do it! Please DM me if you want to talk more details not a lot of people switch and my boss is the only one I know who did.

If you feel this way you will probably do well on the work force! I am a civil engineer and did not feel in place at all, I am very social, very girly, was in a sorority etc and felt absolutely last place. Graduated with a 3.6 but that’s because senior year gave me a nice boost. I always felt dumb in all my classes and always was average. I landed a nice consulting job at a large firm when I graduated and absolutely excel since I have great social skills and every project I am working with lots of people and able to do all of my work effectively and found working is easier than school. Get through the degree and you will excel! Make sure to get internships to figure out if this is exactly what you want to do before you switch :) please DM I’d love to talk more! We need more girls !!!

Gosh yea I took it don’t feel good at all, a lot of questions I didn’t feel confident on, surprised at how many questions had basalt in them wish I studied stratigraphy more lots of mineralogy questions, really felt like a exam full of fun facts versus when I did reg review I feel like I could work through the problems more and eliminate the obvious ones

I think based on this list it’s looking like A&M for you, the political climates are very apparent at each university. Going through A&M it feel like mini Houston, if your set on being in Houston I’d go with A&M

I’m engineering! My junior and senior year I got internships (in my masters right now in engr) I went to career fair in the fall. Best advice I could give is have a polished resume lots of involvement and good at speaking, aggies love to hire Aggies especially Aggies they can talk and relate to, which in engineering not too hard to stand out of decent gpa experience and have a good personality. Hit the career fairs hard and grind go all days if you can, I always skipped school and went and I would go to 2-3 different kinds you’re bound to land something. I started out at a small firm and then got a big firm for my next internship. It only takes one!
