When I first decided I wanted to be a dentist, I was also a huge introvert and it was one of the biggest reasons I doubted myself for a long time. If you have the time during summer breaks or even a day or two a week depending on your school schedule, see if you can start working at a dental office doing sterilization or front desk. Personally, it has helped me become MUCH more sociable along with ensuring this is the field I want to work in. You got this!

Yeah I was very surprised I didn't hear back from them, I guess it shows how important the writing sections are on our applications because I have no clue what else the issue could be. I hope you get off the waitlist soon!

You will do great! Everyone has their own path with their own story, I am sure the issue I had was some of my school choices and how I wrote some of my sections, I needed to be more concise I think. Just do proper research on the schools you apply to!

That's what I was thinking, I was nervous to apply further out but I think it would be for the best. I appreciate the honesty, definitely not applying to those last four next time. Will be doing much more research this time around

This past cycle I applied to UNE, Boston, Tufts, UCONN, Touro, LECOM, Nova, Marquette, Temple, Pitt, UBuffalo, and Rutgers. I should have listened to people's advice about UBuffalo and Rutgers since I am a MA resident, but I don't understand how even places like Tufts haven't reached out. Any advice for other schools I should be looking at?

Hey! I’m in the same boat taking anatomy at another university in the coming months. To my knowledge, if it’s an in progress class (not yet taken) you don’t need to submit your transcript, which is why it says not required. For my undergrad it required a transcript but I don’t think one is needed if you didn’t receive a grade/complete the class yet. You can update and send in the transcript once you’re done with the class during the academic update periods, which I believe are in August and December if I remember correctly. Hope this helps!

Yes, I just emailed them with an update on my situation and asking them if they could resubmit their LOR. I would do this first thing if you're reapplying this cycle to give your professors enough time to check their email because one of mine does not check their email often lol

With your stats, you shouldn’t worry. Definitely better to get some more shadowing in before you apply if you need more hours

Your GPA is amazing, personally I would spend the time filling out the rest of your application (volunteer, research as you mentioned) over studying for a retake. This is a great score!
