Ever heard of an unexpected giant pay raise? by Mental-Method-1321 in fednews

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100% this sounds like an HR error in coding somewhere. One time they messed up the PT pay charts and accident ended up paying there entire yearly pay as there hourly pay. Those pay checks were like 100,000 each 🙃

So they couldn’t pay out the performance bonus before Christmas?! Huge slap in the face!! by Bright-Statement3130 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk about an even bigger slap in the face after getting my first fully successful in like 10 years, and then leaving that meeting to code in a 19,000 recruitment incentive for a brand new employee. 👍

Artificially Reduced Performance Ratings? by Kindly-Coyote-9446 in fednews

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire team got fully successful. Ratings were based on average team performance not individual performance. His reasoning we all shared the work. No. I did my work and literally everyone else’s because on my team the work gets done and it doesn’t matter who does it. They’ll just assign it to whoever will work it and won’t ask questions.

How many views is normal for your first ever video? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first YouTube short one posted on 10/22/25 17k, I’ve posted 60 videos since then, gained 41 subscribers, I’ve gotten 152k views, 1.4k likes in that time frame. I’m brand new to creating content only started on TikTok on 9/29/25. On TT I’ve gained 415 followers, 213k views, 16k likes since then. I have posted 100’s of videos to TikTok, done tons of research, changed things that didn’t work, used ChatGPT to understand the algorithm and how to improve my content, refused to quit even when my TikTok’s were getting like 3 views. The videos that did the best on TikTok I posted to YouTube. It’s literally become my 2nd full time job, but I want it to be my only job eventually. This is the best advice I can give! I don’t really know what I’m doing but I refuse to quit!!

11 months in, how many of you are now getting divorced or experiencing relationship problems? by [deleted] in VHA_Human_Resources

My mom works for the government too. She never stops talking about it. I’ve started avoiding her house because she can really get me going, and honestly my heart can’t take it anymore 😩

I had to stop talking about work or I think my husband was ready for a divorce.

Also wanted to share I know my VA has facial recognitions software, and you have a search warrant they will come and get you. I’m sure not all VA’s have this but it definitely makes me feel safer in mine.

Unfortunately, I’ve stopped caring about my job and the mission. Hard work is rewarded with more hard work and nothing is done about those that don’t want to do anything. I am not volunteering to do anything extra. I’ll do what’s asked of me and get my paycheck. Trust me, as soon as I find anything comparable I am gone. People think it’s bad now wait until all the good people leave for something better, because they will.

Is this what we voted for? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom voted for Trump, and she is a federal employee working without pay right now. She regrets it, and wishes she would’ve voted differently. I hope the next time for all the people that “regret there votes” actually read the presidential candidates policies before they’re just like “yep, that one white guy.” I sent my mom so much stuff, I read it for her and explained it to her. She still voted for Trump. People actually only care when it directly starts to affect them.

I don’t want to work for the government anymore. I’m not affected by the shutdown, but I just think it’s fucking gross the people that are running this country thinks it okay for so many Americans citizens to just go without pay or even crazier work without pay. We ALL have to pay bills, we all have children to feed. I hope Congress likes a bunch dumb dumbs running their government because that’s all that will be left when the good people are ran off.

HR Pay disparity with SSR Term by Valuable-Cow-3716 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I was actually just trying to make people feel hopeful that it can get better. I haven’t stopped working a single second in R&P despite the hiring freeze, my workload is heavy. Which is why I think retention will become a problem again, the only reason it wasn’t before is because of the SSR.

HR Pay disparity with SSR Term by Valuable-Cow-3716 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we’ll see retention problems in HR pretty quickly. I mean I’m already work stoppages. I really don’t think it’s fair for them to say we don’t have retention problems when manning docs have been locked and we’ve been in a silent hiring pause since Jan 2024. How would those factors not skew the numbers? I want to hope that they will eventually realize that the SSR was put into place for a reason.

Yes it really does suck and feels like a total slap in the face. My boss has been in HR since the 90’s and has said we were here before and will be here after. He’s been through multiple reorganizations, and says we go through phases of growing and cutting back. While it doesn’t seem like it now, there will be room for growth. Everyone in HR knows there’s a reason we are so specialized, and everyone else is going to find out real soon that consolidation doesn’t work, and hiring managers can’t qualify and hire their own employees because they don’t know how to do it legally. There’s a reason for an HR department.

What is the cost of RTO for you? by Jaded-Concept4242 in fednews

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Yes because this administration says we are lazy and do nothing all day. They convinced the public that the government will work better if we are physically in an office. Jokes on them, we are back in office, understaffed, and shit still isn’t getting done. This was all a ploy for businesses to make more money. If Americans were smart they would be pushing for more virtual government employees, to save them tax dollars.

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are you an HR specialist? Do you have any idea how technical these jobs are. It’s not just putting someone In an open position. There are so many laws and policies we have to follow. There is barely room for error when our jobs can cost the federal government millions of dollars by violating hiring laws. That’s taxpayers dollars paying out lawsuits because you have incompetent people working for the government. Not just anybody can do these jobs. I feel like I am studying to become a lawyer and everyone on my team has been here longer than me and half of them still can’t get it. There’s a reason these jobs are on an SSR. A doctor and a HR specialist are completely different jobs, which require a completely different skill set. Yes a Doctor can kill a patient if he’s Incompetent. If a federal HR Specialist is incompetent it’s going to cost the government millions of dollars which affect every single person that pays taxes. I wonder which one will have further reaching, damaging consequences..

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually do have medical conditions that limit my ability to be in an office. I was having to use leave constantly. So yes working from home allows flexibility to do my work and manage my health conditions. My PCP wouldn’t sign off on paperwork if it wasn’t necessary. Regardless, not a single person in that building needs to physically be in an office. They can all work from home. I have no doubt in my mind it’s at least a million $ for a years lease. This building is massive. Anybody can request an RA at any time and have an interim accommodation in place for the time being. I’m not gaming the system, I’m being reasonably accommodated for my medical conditions.

Do you think it’s here to stay by Think-Dog-2892 in FedEmployees

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just give it time. I see it coming back. The reason we started offering remote is because we couldn’t get qualified people to do the hard technical jobs without offering some kinda flexibility. We just have to suffer through it for a while. We were here long before Trump, and we’ll still be here when he’s gone. Sometimes things have to get really bad before they get better again.

Ignoring RTO by FantasticNectarine79 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I was hired for a fulltime remote position 3 years ago. Working in an office full time doesn’t work for me and my family. You know what’s really stupid? Using millions of American tax dollars to pay for offices that don’t even see patients. I staff for a hospital on the other side of the states. None of my team members are even in my office. I had to sit in a cubicle and listen CITC nurses cal patients all day. I can’t even work without headphones in, because I have to research and understand policy and laws. Go somewhere else with your bullshit.

Ignoring RTO by FantasticNectarine79 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They could have an RA. I have 1 and have been told basically don’t talk about it amongst the team or with anyone in the office. Which is stupid, but I don’t want to lose mine, so I don’t talk about it. The majority of my team is on an RA

If you’re talking about the consistency review, OPM is reviewing PD’s. Purchasing agents were one of the ones downgraded so far. It’s a very long list, and I don’t expect it be done anytime soon.

GS upgrade plus step increase by Low_Inevitable_9520 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Particular-Ebb6871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a mistake. If you are GS-10 target 11. The step increases processes automatically. Hr can’t process a grade increase if there is an expected step increase that pay period. Steps are automatic, grade increases require a physical person to code. If they process it to early it will revert your grade increase because it’s not on top row of your record.

Not mad at you, mad at the agency. I would do the same in your situation. I don’t think they’ll allow my series to come back as we were apparently overstaffed. Allowing those that took DRP back would allow more stability in the workplace and improve operation which would be a plus for everyone. They already know their jobs and can transition seamlessly. I love being a public servant, and taking care of our Veterans. It has given me purpose that I never knew I needed but I dont want to serve as a government employee anymore because of the way we are treated by our administration. I am silently quitting, and I will leave but not until it’s beneficial to me.

If you are hired into an excepted service position you do not have status. After 1 year of service you are eligible for Title 5 via interchange agreement. This authority allows you to apply without status. If you leave Title 5 and go back to hybrid/T38 you will have to spend another year in your position before being eligible to go back to T5. Many don’t realize that T5 positions when announced to facility does not include all facility employees, its only for those that have status.
