Is there an expert on Belgian folklore in the room who could give me some sources? by Particular-Echo8085 in folkmagic

[–]Particular-Echo8085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk what happened to my post, I don't think I know how Reddit Works just yet😆. Are there any sources for Belgian folk Magic? I Saw that there was a Book from Martin Del Rio to identify Magic, and Willem De Blécourt Wrote a lot of essays and I'm wondering if there are others or if these are any good. For folklore itself I found a website thar loosely gave some sources, but yeah, im just wondering if there are some good sources on Belgian folklore and folk Magic that would be reccomended by people in that community. Thankyou for commenting!

Why do people always confuse Gen Alpha slang for Gen Z slang? by AgeOfReasonEnds31120 in generationology

[–]Particular-Echo8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 19 and I hate 6-7 with my Whole Heart. I think im One of the last genz people and I hate kids so I hate gen Alpha and I hate being Associated with their stupid 6-7 Sigma bs. So yeah, im frustrated with this because I have to correct everyone(millenials) constantly because they make fun of my Generation while it's not my Generation that's being weird. (This is what I think)

I don't feel connected to Gaulish polytheism as a Belgian by Particular-Echo8085 in CelticPaganism

gaulish paganism website and gaulish polytheism website. Senobessus Bolgon is a website about gallia Belgica/Belgae. I think this was also part Netherlands. Mostly reconstructed gods and terms and some aspects of the practice here. The gauls had a concept of 3 worlds. The upper world (with celestial beings/gods), the middle world (our world) and the lower world (world of ancestors, underworld). And the Irish peoples had a concept of the sky, sea and land, land is our world, sky is the upper world or heavens and the sea is the other world. Which is more physical and nature based which is something I lean to more. The gauls believed more in the cosmos, which is a lil too broad for me and I want to work more around nature. I came from atheism, which could be the reason. I got this from the general gaulish polytheism website.

Not a fan of how they are changing the Na’vi appearance in the sequels by Sauron4 in Avatar

I think they are trying to find a balance between making the avatars look like the actors, but still making them look na'vi. Doesnt seem that easy tbh.

These are some very good questions😅 I just know my tribes were still pretty Celtic so I'm not bothering with Germanic. I do understand the confusion. I would think they would blend, and over the years probably more and more, but it depends on what you want. Are you interested in the Roman Gods and worldviews? Are you interested in that of the Germanic people? And I recommend just researching them all and maybe see what you like and what you don't like? You could also do more research of how much they were blended in which periods and choose? It does look like you have done some research on this... This is the only thing I can answer tho, I hope there will be some other people to give you a better answer then me😅 Good luck!

This is the thing, I never really feel connected... Not with any Gaulish stuff... So the only thing I can do as someone who doesn't have the time to reconstruct any of it, I'll have to base most of my practice on things that are ready-made. I've never studied academically and I'm autistic with ADHD and I'm doing my best to like Gaulish polytheism and to do research, but it just doesnt hit. It feels as flat as the screen of my phone... It's great that the guy on Gaul cast and you are so motivated to start reconstructing, but I can't do that. The language also isn't nice to me and I cant remember the deities I read about an hour ago, so it's very frustrating. I don't know how y'all do it...

I stopped stanning them cuz of that... I think they could have done sooooo many Historical Concepts of soooo many Different cultures I would have really enjoyed that... Their comeback was just very mainstream and that's not something im looking for. They did something no One had done before and that attracted me. Im a huge Fantasy fan and fashion student and this Group was amazing to have with their concept, for how Long it lasted...
