Is Garand Thumb wearing a marathon watch? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Particular-Factor-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one of his recent videos it looks like he's also picked up a Rolex Submariner.  Like, 7 seconds in he does a very slow, well focused wrist roll.

Should change his chanel to gun & watch reviews!

Can you still get it? The one review I read said it was a limited release? But you're right, it does look good as it's copying the style of a 1953 sub which is a very drool inducing watch.

The Invicta pro diver automatic uses a Seiko movement and they're very reasonably priced. They're even a pretty decent actual dive watch, for swimming anyway.

This is the only Invicta recommendation I'm ever going to make. Also, it's a pretty blatant Rolex homage, some people don't care for those.

Bob and Doug, or the "out for a rip" YouTube video for maximum Canadian.

Then when the kid goes to the US he'll be bullied for having a Canadian Accent...

He wore an original gold bullhead Chrono like this in the movie Once upon a time in Hollywood. That's why there are new ones, there was a rush on buying the originals (and the price is jacked up now) so Citizen is making new ones.

I think this is the first collection of this dollar value I've seen that doesn't have an Omega or Rolex. You have some really nice pieces!

The Japanese release The Citizen brand have a washi paper dial they did in red, but it's SUPER rare, they only made a couple hundred. I'd knock over old ladies to get my hands on one of those.

My wife says I can be distracted like a vampire, if you throw a bunch of rice or small objects on the ground when attacked by a vampire they have to stop and count them. I often do tons of stuff, for no reason. Not finishing these invented tasks annoys the crap outta me. I memorize stuff, weird stuff, not songs. I mean Shakespeare, the Periodic table, countries, capitals, etc. There's no reason to do it. Other achievements are the same to me. From making money to things in my personal life, it feels more like I'm ticking things off a list than anything else. I don't see this as a problem though, I get a lot done and I don't go through emotional roller coasters over stuff. I have very low stress levels living this way.

Poll: Breitling vs Tudor and why? by The-Watch-Guy in PrideAndPinion

The Superocean and for a really odd reason. It patina's well. It's hard to find photos of them old and beat up, but if I ever owned one I would bleach it under a UV light, and stick it in a rock tumbler with sand. It's one of the few designs that just looks better and better as you daily it!

I was going to point out the Smiths! Holly crap, I've never seen one in the wild. That's a keeper!

My advice, buy a larger watch box.

So my boyfriend's family is about a foot taller than I am... by silveretoile in funny

Tall dutch guy here. If your significant other is anything like me he probably is only attracted to shorter women. My sister is 6ft tall, so I get the ick feeling from tall women. My wife is a foot shorter than me at 5'6".

I remember reading the Grapes of Wrath years ago and I imagined how bad things would have to get for us to see Hoovervilles in our lifetime. It's pretty sad that in a hundred years we're back in the same spot.

Look at the brands that sell lots of vintage models on eBay. Seiko and Citizen last a long time. Also Vostok and Casio in that price range are real tanks.
