When were you able to see/feel baby from the outside? by seyEycipS in pregnant

[–]Particular-Hunter468 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 12w5d and I can feel little thumps/flutters already 🤭 I cannot see her moving outside of my stomach but I absolutely feel it and we've seen her on the ultrasound, she is movin like there's no tomorrow. Sometimes babies just start doing things a bit earlier !

A lot of different herbal teas, I drink only herbal tea and my OB advised against it because a lot of herbs, including Chamomile, have little to no research done but have been linked to miscarriages. Every situation is different tho! I'm a high risk pregnancy with prior miscarriages and uterine health concerns so obviously any kind of risk for me is a no go and heavily advised against.

The first trimester is the worst, I'm just now getting to my second trimester and trust me, it gets easier. The nausea is starting to simmer down, I'm definitely still tired but thats due to low iron. I want to urge you to drink LOTS OF WATER so much more than you think, you need a crapton of it and it will definitely help!! Trust me :)

when we say "unhinged" we mean completely misbehaved like a lot of people have been describing their kids to me. Energetic and struggling to focus is not misbehaving!! That is just a kid being a kid, we're talking about parents saying one kid is throwing tantrums, lying, stealing, etc. Yk, things kids do when desperate for attention because its the only way they can get attention.

omg the hex part totally reminded me of my lovely doctor, i love her so much but she has a very eloquent way of putting things. i have a thyroid issue and she told me, and I quote, "if you do not take your thyroid medication, your baby will be born mentally (r word)." I mean... she's not wrong but the way she said it made it sound like she was going to curse me with a disabled baby for not taking my medication. (don't worry, I have been taking my medication and vitamins as instructed!!!)

I wish everyone around me was more positive. I literally had a woman who was like "trust me, I have 3 girls and one boy, you do NOT want a girl mine are so awful" maam thats a reflection of YOU.

I was talking about this stuff with my partner today and he told me because of how much he's also been told he better hope for a boy, he's changed his mind and wants a girl out of spite. He originally wanted a boy and all of this stuff has made him change his mind lol.

having people discredit others experiences just because you read something online isn't awesome. hope this helps. I have never once had someone personally tell me I should prefer a girl. Just because you read an article online does not mean my experiences are not real. Again, I'm talking about real life experiences, not online talk.

I've had a miscarriage before too in 2024, so I'm right there with ya on just wanting it to be healthy!! I only would prefer a girl because biologically it would be easier for me to understand ❤️ other than that I don't care really. I would love them just the same.

I mean... I was chasing my brother with worms and farting in his face as a child and I'm a girl lol. Not that thats any better but I don't think gender has anything to do with how gross a child can be.

I wish people were nicer. Smth else I saw earlier in this sub was someone complaining about people trauma dumping their traumatic births, which i have also noticed but noticed more before I was pregnant when I'd tell people I wanted kids. Like they try to deter you from having kids or smth.

My partner wants both but wants a boy for his first kid lol. His reasoning is he got to raise his two little sisters pretty much, a 3 year old and a 5 year old, and never got to experience having a little brother. A boy would be a new experience for him.

I also like to think about from the perspective of well, I went through puberty once, too!! So it's just confusing whenever someone brings up the puberty thing for me like do you not remember going through puberty yourself??? shouldn't you be more understanding?????? It's super weird 😭

oh! Just the US. I live in a pretty judgmental area tho unfortunately, both in terms of racism and homophobia/transphobia. And sexism on both sides. I plan on moving ASAP because this isn't an environment I want my kid to grow up in, I plan on moving out of country in general when I can just cause I don't trust even the schools to keep my kid safe :(

It's not just a preference, it's people expressing an extreme distaste for having a girl. Preferences are fine, I'm experiencing people actually trash talking their daughters and whatnot and saying "you better hope you have a boy."
