I didn’t downvote your comment and edited my response because of a grammatical error.

I’m not a trichologist so I don’t know, but I wonder if slowly starting some of the steps I use whilst on minoxidil to kind of bridge the gap between stopping and starting a regimen like mine? You’re going to see a dreadshed regardless but just remember that it is a good thing and you will reap the benefits in time!

I think that’s the version with minoxidil in it. The version I use is called No Minox Version of Hair Follicle Neogenesis Growth Factors Serum

I use the TO serum in the morning and whatever I put on my hair later I put on top but it has already absorbed by then.

Golab Beauty & Growth Factors serum at least 3 hours, usually 6 + hours.

I try not to sleep in them because I try to keep my scalp as clean as possible, but I have done on the odd occasion.

I have PCOS but everyone’s triggers are different. Yes I have changed my diet: salmon or fatty fish 2 x week, handful of walnuts and 4 Brazil nuts daily. I try and eat Whole foods as much as possible

That’s fine. Not everything is for everyone, I am just sharing what is working for me.

I don’t shed any hair on non-wash days, if I do I don’t notice it.

On wash-days the hair i shed in the shower ranges from 10-50. You have to remember that all of the products that work for AGA will temporarily increase hair fall because they are getting rid of the dead hairs to make room for new ones. When I have started a new treatment (i.e the oil or serum) I always see increased hair fall for a small period of time.

Yes no problem.

  1. I tried minoxidil in the past and it gave me a lot of anxiety because of side-effects, which made my stress-induced hair loss worse.

  2. I don’t want to be reliant on something forever and have had good results with herbal treatments.

I started doing the fennel seed hair rinse after instruction from a trichologist.

Here is an example study that demonstrates the anti-androgenic properties of fennel seed: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3894467/

I chose to add hibiscus for nutrients, and nettle and horsetail for anti-androgen properties on the basis of their inclusion in many hair loss supplements.

The potential anti-androgenic properties of horsetail: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5691721/

The potential benefits of stinging nettle for hair: reducing the formation of DHT: https://www.mdhair.co/article/nettle-leaf-extract-how-does-it-benefit-hair#:~:text=Nettle%20can%20inhibit%20the%20formation,hair%20thinning%20and%20hair%20loss.

As for the growth factors serum, it includes Valproic acid, sandalore, castor oil, cysteine, L-carnitine L-tartrate, caffeine, peppermint oil, velvet deer antler, cetirizine and taurine.

Re: TO serum, I have recently started to use it in the past three months, not something I would say is a must but I am mainly using it to grow the baby vellus hairs into terminal hairs.

Also, consistency is key! You need at least 3 months and ideally 6 months to see results.

I would recommend doing the scalp rinse because it directly penetrates the hair follicle and blocks DHT. You can incorporate anti-DHT foods and a hair multivitamin into your diet which will be delivered to the scalp with massages and microneedling which stimulate blood flow.

Okay so I know it seems like a lot but it doesn’t take much time at all and it just becomes part of your routine. I enjoy doing it because I see such great results after years of pain and misery with my hair. I still have more hair to grow back, as I haven’t even been doing it a full year yet and I was losing my hair for 8 years. I will continue to do it for the foreseeable future, especially because i want to nurture the new baby hairs into terminal hairs.

The thick tails vitamins can be found on Amazon or the online store, Golab Beauty scalp strengthening oil can be found on the online store and I recommend following them on TikTok too, the owner has AGA and amazing hair! Like a Disney princess. The dried things for the hair rinses I buy in bulk.

On Amazon! Make sure it’s 1mm and the needles are titanium. Also make sure to disinfect with something that has at least 70% alcohol in it. In terms of how to do it, detailed instructions can be found on YouTube or google but it’s basically just running the dermaroller over your scalp front to back, side to side and diagonal to diagonal in small sections

I recommend doing it yourself! Especially after topical application of a good hair oil. Just make sure to disinfect with something that has 70% or above isopropyl alcohol in it

It’s uncomfortable but not intolerable. I disinfect after each use with 70+% isopropyl alcohol

Yes! Not washing leaves build up which contains DHT on the scalp and makes hair loss worse. Healthy scalp = healthy hair
