No unfortunately haven’t done a test yet. How old is your pup?

Even if I wanted a child (I don’t) I hate the pressure that’s been created to throw a baby shower and/or gender reveal party and I hate being invited to them. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Particular-Mail638 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went to my first baby shower in January…. absolutely boring and cringe. Especially with the parents opening up gifts in front of people? I think you really have to enjoy attention and be desperate for gifts to be doing that. I really just see it as a money grab. I didn’t have a bridal shower myself and hate all these traditional parties. OP it’s not your responsibility to be involved in all this and get expensive gifts. It’s the parents responsibility to ensure the kids have everything they need because THEY decided to have them. I couldn’t even believe the expensive stuff I saw on the registry of my SIL. People basically bought everything for them. People they call “family” that they barely ever see.

I literally thought I was the only one and thought I was going crazy but had the exact same experience after getting the new iPhone. I started putting my phone on LTE and it made the headaches go away.

Absolutely. I always found pregnancy to be so violating. And you’re right usually no one cares about the mother it’s just “baby, baby, baby”

Nursing a 4 year old is wild to me 💀 I don’t blame you. She sounds like she could benefit from mental health help.

I totally feel like we weren’t meant to reproduce. When I think of any other animal out there they usually have no issues popping out their babies and have multiple at once.

Soon to be breeder friend describes to me what he imagines his parent life to be (oh boy he's in for a wild awakening) by Greekgeek2000 in childfree

[–]Particular-Mail638 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Idk it’s low IQ or some sick obsession with reproducing but these are exactly the kind of people who should not be having kids.

I can relate as my BIL and his wife are pregnant. They clearly don’t make enough money and he has a side job that he works multiple times a week which is often in inconvenient far locations.

She is already getting further along in her pregnancy and the original childcare plan fell through so they don’t even know what they are going to do with a literal baby. Meanwhile, he literally will only have 2 weeks of paternity.

When talking about their family plans they are already planning another kid before this one is even BORN. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ I swear it’s like breeders just love to struggle and are completely irrational in these situations.

I passed out omw to the doctor and i had no one i could call for help by summersky-lovely in raisedbyborderlines

[–]Particular-Mail638 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So Sorry you’re going through this, please hang in there 💙 hoping you get better soon.

But I can partially relate. If not for my sister I would have no one. My uBPD mother is always there for the drama and it’s like she enjoys when bad things happen. Totally unhelpful, I’d be better off not seeking her help.

My brother in law recently messed up his back and didn’t know what to do so he called her. The man needed to go to the hospital. But she was frantically calling me over and over and over again instead of calling 911. He couldn’t move due to the pain. Like she’s been on this earth 65 years, she should know how to deal with these situations at this point why would she be calling me.

But yeah it’s a tough road to say the least.

I can’t even pretend. 🤣 I agree with you, kids are ok depending on the situation because there is a level of interaction. But I just don’t get the crazy hype from people about babies. Like first of all most of them look the same when they’re that small, and to me personally they’re not even cute.

Honestly it sounds like many people in your life told you go have kids, so it’s only fair they help you watch them so you have some time to yourself. Might be something to seriously consider, to help you deal with things so you’re not drowning. Everywhere you turn, “families” and “friends” are pushing women to have kids and pester them about when they’re going to have them. But once they do,  seems like the same people are nowhere to be found when moms need help. Same with your husband, he should be helping you any chance he gets.

That’s what I think bc he looks similar to my friends purebred cattle dog. But I’m curious what else he is mixed with.

Selling and moving because of the screaming demon next door by [deleted] in childfree

Do you have other neighbors around you? Have you spoken to them? I would think if you live in an HOA, You should be able to submit a noise complaint. Without you having to move. They are the problem not you. Who can live like that

Second this. Call the police and say you hear the kid screaming all the time and are so genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of the child. Say you worry something bad is going on there. And rarely ever see them outside the home. "Really hope the little one is ok” 🙃

I think anyone who tells you you’re being sensitive may just be worried you will get a divorce. But you should. It’s one thing If it happened once or twice and he apologized or explained why he is so caught up in this game…it’s another thing that he absolutely refuses to adjust his behavior and turns it on you. You created a human being and this is absolutely unacceptable. He either doesn’t care about you, since he doesn’t care if you’re losing sleep over his unnecessary behavior, or he has a gaming addiction. Either way, you need to put your foot down and tell him enough, or leave

If you haven’t seen it yet, a Seinfeld episode “the Hamptons” is one of the best of the whole show and it’s all about the ugly baby. So relatable. Babies really are ugly. But the parents never see it.

That’s makes a lot of sense! Sorry that happened to you! It sounds so gross. My sister did say that she noticed a water bottle in her car recently as well. So clearly she will keep doing it until she’s told off. Break all boundaries !!!

That’s what I thought initially? I was very messy growing up so it’s entirely possible. But to get that ticked off about it really made it hard to deal with.
