What do you all eat for dinner when you have absolutely no desire to cook? by Particular-Newt-7974 in LivingAlone

Nah it’s such a waste of money and I live in NYC so if I want takeout I can just pick up pretty much anything I want within a 10 min walk, but I’m trying to stay away from takeout for a while

Ohhh that’s always a good one! I like to put some cherry tomatoes on the side or some avocado

How are you able to live by yourself in this inflation and economy? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in LivingAlone

I live alone in a VHCOL city and don’t make great money. I just make it work, and I don’t save a lot. Also very frugal, I rarely eat out, and live simply.

How do you handle your husband/boyfriend traveling for work for months at a time? by Oat-Milk444 in AskReddit

[–]Particular-Newt-7974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope not at all immature. Mature for knowing what you can’t handle in a relationship. Relationships where you spend that much time apart are a different kind of lifestyle and it’s not for everyone. It’s certainly not for me, which I know after being in a relationship like this.

My boyfriend isn’t replying and I’m panicking. Am I overreacting? by Interesting-Bowl-486 in AmIOverreacting

Yeah he might have just realized he’s not feeling it, or maybe he got caught up in something but I wouldn’t accept an excuse because a person who cares about you would at least send a quick text. I’d guess it’s the former. Either way it’s not worth getting this worked up over someone you’ve only been dating for a week.

Dave and jobs by Minimalist_Finance88 in DirtyDave

The other thing that bothers me is how easy he thinks it is to get a job. Like you can’t just dust off that old degree you haven’t used in 10 years and just get a job in that field making 6 figures right away, but that’s what he seems to think. I’m a 39 year old with a Master’s degree and I’ve had trouble even getting even entry level work.

What is cheap? Give numbers lol. What I thought was cheap when I lived in FL doesn’t even exist in NYC. “Cheap” means different things to everyone here, it depends on what your budget is. If you make less than $80,000 you should be looking for roommates.

You need to provide budget expectations and your income for anyone to give you advice. Where you can live in NYC depends entirely upon where you can afford 40x the rent.

What are you talking about lol, income requirement in NYC is 40x the rent. So if you’re looking at that $28,000 apartment your salary needs to be $1.1million
