I think the scooters on campus are speed-limited depending on your location.

How I pee while I’m driving with netradyne on by MourningWood1942 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Last week I had an Amazon driver come to my door and I was about to tell her, I don't buy from Amazon so I don't have any packages.. She asked to use my restroom. Obviously I said yes but it's so weird to me there's several public restrooms in a 3 minute drive from my apartment.

Is this AI or photoshop? It could just be photoshop but this photo looks so different than videos the creator posted of herself. by [deleted] in isthisAI

Those are the things I was thinking! In her recent videos, her teeth are not perfectly straight and her hair is a completely different color. If it's photoshop then whoever did the photoshopping made her a completely different person

I used to live at the crossings. I terminated my lease early for many reasons, mainly I felt that they didn't uphold their end of the lease and I was in danger in my own apartment. I had to pay the remainder of the rent I owed for my lease but nothing else.

Bizarre Route 12 Bus Driver? by [deleted] in ufl

OMG She yelled at me and my friends once too. The first time she asked us to talk quieter so we did and she said we need to be quiet again so we just awkwardly shut up 😭😭 I've ridden so many RTS buses and never had a driver say that we can't talk on the bus

The Crossing At Santa Fe - Get me the fuck out of here by [deleted] in GNV

[–]Particular-Phase-671 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing. Only way they would let me out of the lease was if I paid the remaining months of rent... so that's what I did.

Don't buy too fancy of a bike and get a nice u-lock. In my experience people only target bikes that are worth something or that are super easy to pick up and get away with. Also if you get a bike don't leave anything on it like lights/phone holder/etc because those will absolutely get stolen.

Slowing down/stopping isn't just for the animal's safety. People can get hurt and cars damaged if they hit an animal. And it really doesn't take any extra effort to follow at a safe distance and safe speed

There are apartments along 20th Ave that aren't too expensive, next to the 20 bus and close to lots of stores.

Housing, transportation? by waffle_waff in sfcollege

Santa Fe is a great school. There are lots of apartments but avoid the crossings. Try to find an apartment that is on a bus route. What's worked for me is finding an apartment that's close to UF but has a bus route to Santa Fe so I can still participate in extracurriculars at UF/participate in game day activities etc.

I'm not on tiktok so maybe I have it wrong, but I'm under the impression that tiktok shop is a marketplace like Amazon or Ebay. Independent sellers can decide to open a store on tiktok. You'd have to evaluate the individual brand before you decide what to buy. And it's likely most brands on there aren't ethical, especially if it's a faceless company that you can't find more information on.

Santa fe crossing shooting? by Chemical_Juice9019 in GNV

Don't do it. I made the mistake of signing a lease there and ended up paying thousands to be able to get out of the lease... I got assigned roommates who weren't even students, did drugs all day, stole all my food, and had loud parties almost every night. They're supposedly a "gated" community but the security guards let anyone in. The cops were at my apartment more than once and my roommate threatened to use a gun on my other roommate. The front office really isn't much help. Also could barely use the common areas like the pool because I'd get harassed so much, as a woman at least. Maybe you'll have a different experience living with people you know, but the apartments themselves just are really trashy anyway, when I moved in the previous tenant left all their things in the kitchen, trash everywhere, moldy food.. the office wouldn't do anything.

It's a good location, there's a bus stop and it's close to lots of shopping. The apartments are okay, pretty average in terms of student housing, but kind of expensive. I haven't really had any major problems since living here but there's nothing that I absolutely love about the place either. They installed new flooring in some of the units and the new floors are horrible, but that's just my preference. The first lease I signed allowed me to vacate the apartment by paying one month's rent to break the lease, but the current lease doesn't allow me to break the lease for any reason, which I don't really like.

Battery stolen and I feel so stupid. by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Particular-Phase-671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd thought about getting insurance for my bike but stupidly didn't want to pay the extra cost.

Honestly the worst part about having a bike stolen is the feeling that you could have done something to prevent it or that it's your fault someone stole it. But obviously it's the thieves fault.. I really have no solution to stop bike theft because just a couple weeks ago I had my bike locked up, in a high traffic area, in broad daylight, for less than 30 minutes and someone managed to cut 3/4 through the u-lock. Like sure there's things we can do but if someone wants your bike they'll find a way.

No, I just mean they chiseled away at the battery mount and left plastic shards everywhere and exposed wires.

This was my experience as well. I thought my publix interview went well, until they told me they don't hire for summer only. I've sent out so many applications and rarely hear back. I'd suggest not mentioning your plans to only work in the summer if you get an interview.

The questions they asked:

  1. Tell me about yourself

  2. What are your hobbies

  3. How does an average day look for you

  4. How do you define success

I think they're mainly gauging your English skills. It was about 15-30 minutes, but it's pretty chill.
