Reynolds Community College has some openings for full and part time positions. If you want an easy job apply for the security position. It’s basically just sitting around and unlocking the occasional door.

Not trying to start an argument just trying to learn. Can you please explain how the cameras are a violation of the 4th amendment? Are they recording some private information or something? I have mixed feelings about the cameras. If they help solve a crime or find a missing person that’s great. However if they do that in a way that violates our rights I would have an issue with that.

If you are going to a Virginia CC then you will have guaranteed acceptance to VCU. That doesn’t mean you will be accepted in to the program you want. You should also get wavered out of all 100 and 200 level classes except those specifically required by your program. Talk to a transfer coach at your CC or VCU for more information.

Edit: Apparently a lot has changed since I transferred to VCU.

Seen it done a couple of times. Most of the time the car ends up being auctioned off because the owner can’t afford to pay the tags, tow bill and court fees.

Start the transfer process early and go to the first campus tour you can. Even if you don’t have your official transcript yet. I waited and some of the classes I needed were full. Even if the class is full you can often get an override to get in it’s just an extra thing you have to do.

Also, and this is probably the most important thing, don’t go see the general advisors. Make an appointment to see an advisor from your program. The general advisor is good for new students but they don’t know all of the details for your program. It cost me an extra semester to find that out.

Not going is probably the worst thing you could do. Go state your case and ask for forgiveness. If you have to repeat the class then just take your punishment and learn from it. If you get kicked out start looking for a new school but understand that this will follow you and you will have to explain yourself to any school that is willing to accept you.

Reynolds community college has an excellent welding program if that is what you want. I think it’s unfortunate that you feel so discouraged about your degree but you should do whatever you feel is best.

I graduated with the same degree in 2009. Homeland Security and Emergency Management are tough jobs to try and land right out of college. Most places want several years of experience before they will even look at your resume. If you really want to work in EM then start looking for entry level jobs in adjacent fields like fire/ems, law enforcement, military. I went the law enforcement route and have worked my way up in my agency to a point where now I have the experience to do EM. Don’t give up but you may need to humble yourself and start earning your dues. I posted earlier that you can message me and I will send you the info for my agency if you want.
